So which club directors have just a few years high school experience?

Spot on above. My son plays U11 on very good team from one of the big clubs. 2 practices a week at 1.5 hours plus a 3rd that is usually 1.5 of small sided scrimmage. However, he plays at least an hour a day on his own by himself or with neighborhood kids. He goes to a school where soccer is very popular so guess what he does at recess everyday?, more soccer. I actually had to limit his play time soccer at school because he plays mostly unsupervised with a large group of boys & girls. Many are bigger & older, they foul and hard foul when they get frustrated.

Its the blend of formal practices and free play for fun that is fantastic for his overall development and passion for playing. At this age, only 4 or 5 hours of formal practice is needed. The rest should come on their own but most importantly without parents or coaching.

Our U11 team trains 3 times a week at 1.5 a night. The club mandates 2 nights. Our coach also runs futsal 3 times a week for those that want supplemental training.

This is a great option but would mean that the clubs would have to pay for this a lose money and it seems like clubs are now in it for the money and not development of your child.

All this is available for you at most big clubs but you have to pay extra but it would be great to see clubs offer it for free

our club at the u9 and u10 ages has 2 practices 1.5 hours each. Because my son and daughters practice nights are opposite they each practice with other teams twice a week and the club provides a finishing school on Fridays. Plus recess etc.

This is an example of an arrangement which you work out with the club and make the most of it. Does the club provide this equal opportunity to all other kids of your both teams?
                  Which club?

Can FYSA and Club Soccer mandate all clubs to disclose detailed fee structure, services provided, Success rate/history of each club and the coach statistics?

This would be great if available prior to tryouts.

GOTSOCCER: can you initiate a service like this on your website?

While the disclosure of club fee structures and included services has never been mandated by any governing body, there are clubs which do post that information on their websites well before tryouts.

As far as success rates and histories, most clubs tout their accomplishments on their websites and most coaches tout their credentials and accomplishments in their bios. Unfortunately, depending upon the number of committed players and teams, the coach who was at your team's tryouts may not end up being the coach of your team.

Is there anyone among us who honestly believes that losing money is a viable option for any youth soccer club?

So how do you define success ? Fee structure should be easy - ask someone. Most people just do the research.

I know many kids receive private training which supplements this though.
For comparison Pop Warner football has 10hrs of training per week.

How much should U8-U11 kids be training (actual training, not kicking with friends or games) each week in order to improve?
Training should be all fun and lots of games for this age group. When I was a kid I played every day. Remarkably, everybody seems to be concerned about over training at this age, but nobody cares about these kids having to play 5-6 competitive games at Disney in a long weekend tournament.

                                Surveys and reviews.

Fee structure is supposed to be easy, but these days Club Executives are Financial wizards/MBAs. They find a way how to exploit coaches, players and mask the fees.
