If "the mean ol' man" was God's gift to youth soccer, why hasn't OCS/OCYS recognized him as such and made him "head cook and bottle washer"?

If "the mean ol' man" was all that, why hasn't some other major youth club yet made him "an offer he can't refuse" to be their "head cook and bottle washer"?

Truth is, "the mean ol' man" is lacking in critical management and "people" skills, which leaves him only as a DOC "wannabe" for a first tier, top notch youth soccer mega club.

You're under no obligation to agree with me, but I don't think it's too much to expect anyone who supports something like this to be able to articulate WHY they support it, and to expect their rationale to withstand the slightest scrutiny. Not one of you has provided one good reason that doesn't float away like a feather in the wind with ten-or-so seconds of the most basic scrutiny. You say "It'll shorten my commute" but it clearly won't. You say "It'll lower prices" but it clearly won't. You say "It'll give my kids more options" but it clearly won't. You say "It'll grow soccer" but it clearly won't.

Now if you said something like "It'll make me feel better about myself because this is seen as a higher-status club and I care a lot about what a bunch of complete strangers think about me and my social status," Jesus, at least then your being honest. You're an idiot, but at least you're an honest idiot. If you said something like, "I just don't have the energy to work toward turning this mess around anymore so I think handing it over to someone with a better track record at this sort of thing is the best way out," at least then you might garner some sympathy.

But you seem to have absolutely no idea WHY YOU BELIEVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE. You believe it because someone told you to believe it. You believe it because someone from outside your club DOESN'T believe it, and you people have become so ridiculously tribal that any idea from outside the club triggers an immediate immune-system-like response. You believe it because, in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, you still seem to think you have some some idea of what's wrong with your club and how to fix it.

You jokers have given this issue zero serious thought. You've just slurped up whatever BS you've been spoon-fed and regurgitated it here under the apparent impression that you're actually saying something. I'm not going to change the minds of a bunch of stubborn, lazy thinkers. Well why wouldn't the FCA girls come over? That team has most if not all of the best talent in Orlando. If they want to play at a higher level I'm sure they will want to play ECNL. Yes, that would definitely affect who from the current Krush black team plays ECNL. Should be an interesting tryout.

I'll give you this, though- HM s "people skills " could be better. He's blunt and doesn't suffer foolish, grasping soccer parents gladly. He doesn't glad hand or back slap with a big grin on his face, then turn around and back stab. He's not good at that.

The guy who EXCELS at that is the guy who secretly campaigned himself a top job at OCYS by throwing his CFK colleagues under a bus. He's the guy you can deal with now mommy.

At CFK, HM may have "won the battle" (attaining ECNL) but "lost the war" (CFK joins OCYS/FSA, no major management position for HM at OCYS).

What's done is done. All the moaning and ******* in the world about "good ol' boys" at OCYS will change nothing.

If/when OCYS is awarded USSF USSDA status with "the good ol' boys" running the show at OCYS, what are you going to say then? That "the ghost of HM" deserves credit for that as well?

Welcome to the world of the ECNL. You get coaches who will sell out their clubs and move because they have to be at the "highest level". You get families who think that there special daughters won't be successful or recruited if not in the ECNL. What you really get is more travel and much more expense, the same training, larger rosters, and you and your kids will be looking over your shoulders wondering what "shiney penny" will take your darling daughters position.

You don't accomplish the things that Phil has by getting "suckered" by anyone. Don't be rediculous. The man owns a major professional team, has successfully built his own business from the ground up into the net worth of hundreds of millions and you expect us to believe he got "suckered"???? It seems like he has the midas touch so do you really think your so called "Soccer Gypsies" are using him or perhaps it's the other way around??? You don't get to be where he is because of making stupid and hasty decisions without research on your partners, their backgrounds, families, etc......Maybe you should do a little more homework before posting such nonsense and making accusations that a very classy man has gotten "duped" by a bunch of hoodwinked Soccer Gypsis!

You people are crazy. All of the people that are being blasted on here (HM, EQ, GB, JA, CM, JM, SB, GS...) on a daily basis are working their @sses off doing what they think is right to develop soccer players in this area. The more success they have the more ridiculous the attacks become. None of these guys have been bad for soccer in this area. And each new change has made soccer in this area better. Just because your scared of change doesn't mean you have to blast everyone that has worked hard for the betterment of soccer in this area.

As someone that has kids playing soccer in this area, thank you to all of you for your hard work.
