This is true. ECNL held up the announcement of both Brandon and CFK until ECNL had assurances from both that they have formally agreed to merge with their new partners. If the mergers were not approved then ECNL would not have occurred this year. Although HM made the initial contact for CFK there were to many significant points missing for CFK to be awarded ECNL status by themselves. HM knows this and this is why CFK merged .He did this for the betterment of the club not for personal gain.

How do you know so much about these teams? My guess is you are at cfk already. And mm team is a top 3 u13 in state and I would guess gb u12 is top team in age group in state.

She even fails to mention the U16 team that is head an shoulders better than any other team in the area. She's also out of the loop about Rush as well. Aztecs moved because Orlando was a better option to get MLS. It didnt have anything to do with money or the good people left behind that supported them. Make no mistake about it. Rawlins and his ownership have their sights set on owning a professional team and money isn't an issue. I'm hearing good things behind the scenes and I believe most people are going to empressed with the new club. It doesn't matter who brought what to the deal. It's Orlando City now and things aren't even done. Be patient and wait for things to roll out when they are ready. I think we might all be surprised.

Professional soccer is along way off for any future Florida MLS franchise.
Orlando is a potential option so is Atlanta, and Miami. But due to not having a soccer specific stadium and a very small fan base the MLS is supposedly "5 years away."

It is a fact that Don Garber will offer the 20th MLS franchise to a NY based team.

Orlando City have done a great job so far. The USL Pro league is, and was a great accomplishment. It will remain to be seen if it will even be in existence when Don Garber comes looking again. I hope it is, but I am not as convinced as most parents in the central florida area.

These type of club mergers are going to be really bad for players. They will lose the team chemistry and kids will be only showing up for games and not training as a real team. Big mistake for Florida clubs to merge like they are.

Taken in isolation the birth of this new "mega club" is a very good thing. Having a large volume of good players is key to development but there MUST be good coaches to train these players for it to have any effect.

The real problem is the nefarious political games that are played in earnest by the parents who want to make sure their child is picked to whatever team is going to be formed. If this didnt happen I would hope that all would be fine. But what do I know?

Your cries of chemistry for kids, blah, blah, blah is indicative that you are more interested in your kid's team winning since a good performing team needs chemistry. But this is not necessary for them to receive good and sound training in order to develop as individual soccer players.

Nonsense. Team chemistry doesn't take years. The idea that teams must remain intact moving from club to club is what has held Florida Soccer back. The merge will create a bigger pool. The best will then be chosen. Just tell Landy to bring his A game to tryouts.

The only way this works is if the clubs are right on top of each other. There will be too many kids not training together etc and just trying to pool a group of kids and play. How close are the outlining areas of these clubs to each other?

From Disney to FSA is the farthest stretch and it's only an hour during most rush hour days. Getting anywhere in between is less. Clubs like Space Coast, FC United, Ormond Beach, Tsunami etc are around an hour or less on expressway so concievable kids could come from them as well.
