what is the rule if the ref stops the play to move the wall back. I commonly see the play restart on the refs whistle but what is the rule.

had a game this past weekend where the wall was setting up and the ref walked over to the wall and screamed at the players to move back. The kicking team shot and scored while the keeper was setting the wall and without the ref blowing the whistle to restart play. The keeper asked the ref why they did not have to wait for the whistle to restart. ref said it was in the flow of the game. On the next free kick the ref also moved the wall back but told the player to wait for the whistle. Did she realize she made a mistake?

Sounds like it
The referees that impress me the most are ones that can admit if and when they make a mistake. They tend to make less of them as well.
Did the FK-taking team request that the wall be moved back or did the referee just yell at them to move it back. That coudl make a difference.
Although it would be unpopular, I'd like to see immediate yellow's for players who line up 1-4 yards away from the ball. I see that as a lot different than pusing up to 7-8 yards. Most of teh kids know they have to give ten yards and I think they ought to at least look ike they are trying.

player taking kick placed ball down and then asked ref to back up the wall. This was not a bang-bang play, there was a complete stoppage of play where the ref ran in the direction of wall and yelled at them to move back. The player never had the intention of quick playing the ball as he set the ball down and backed up prior to asking for the wall to be moved back.
