The problem lies more then just PG. He coached just the girls side, where are the competetive Boys teams.

How do you have two US NATIONAL TEAM players on the same team and can't win a district title? Burgess has really aligned himself with some superior trainers for his club that has been stagnant since he got there. The same thing happened in Coral Springs when Burgess was there. CSU will get past PG pretty quickly. Funny, if he was such a GREAT COACH, why didn't his teams follow him to Delray!

Oh please, spare me!!!! CSU parents are delusional. I was a CSU parent for many years, its not PG as I was here b4 he arrived. The club is poorly run, poorly structured & have coaches that couldn't find their way out of a paper bag. Look at the club record for boys & girls over the last 5 years or more. Yes there have been some successes but not enough consistently to keep good players. Year after year each BOD promised improvement yet failed to deliver. CSU was once a well respected club but now who takes them seriously???
I remember when they were split between Renegades & Storm, so I know the history. Its a good club to get your child started at the younger ages but if you want more competitive play when they get older then you should look elsewhere. I am not going to promote another club as you should find that out for yourself but don't think CSU is your college answer unless the club gets serious, unbiased non-daddy coach/BOD. Don't believe me then stay, makes no difference to me.

Looking back since the merger:
1. 2011/12 season- Actually a good decision by the 2 clubs to merge as both clubs were struggling which unfortunately was because both boards had too much influence and say in the way to run the clubs.
2. kick SB out so its not one club taking over the other. Disregard qualifications, the coaching staff he had, or any reasonable reason. He was never given full control at Renegades so its difficult to completely assess the job he did there.
3. Anoint a coaching committee to run the club led by JW who had never coached club soccer before, along with 4 others with very little experiencing running a club. Only CB had any experience and I believe he quit halfway through. Players are now starting to leave.
4. BOD recognizes they need a real DOC and go in search of someone fresh. Good decision.
5. 2012/13 season- BOD with a very small budget hires LT who hasn't coached youth club soccer in over 10 years. It fails miserably and its abandon ship. BOD goes in search of new director promising things will get better. Very accurate assessment as it couldn't get any worse as the club size is cut in half in 2 years.
6. 2013/14 Season- BOD designates JW as DOC and PG as TD. Again with no budget, it couldn't get worse and the promises by the BOD to get better continue.
7. At this point the coaching staff is very weak, the level of players left is barely above rec for most teams and the leadership is questionable.
8. Club seems to have been run well by JW as the issues are much less than in prior years. The level of play with the older teams is very weak with most at a Div 2 level.
9. PG takes over working with the younger players trying to rebuild. Puts in a training plan and removes parents from any involvement. Some bumps along the road but the level of play improves significantly and the future looks better.
10. New BOD is hired with several new faces.
11. JW pushes PG out for reasons unknown. Conflicting stories.
12. 2014/15 Season- Very little improvement to the coaching staff and CSU enters 4th year post merger with JW now in total control who had no club coaching experience 4 years ago when this project started.
13. Club is now run by mostly new parents on the BOD, with less experience, and a Daddy DOC. Their numbers should be up this year on the heals of a better season. We'll see if the BOD and JW can start to produce the elite players and teams that we saw in Coral Springs 10 years ago.
14. Stay tuned....

Given the keys to the kingdom in Delray after being sent packing by Coral Springs, what exactly has SB done up there? He has full control of the program and lacrosse is actually better received. The soccer program is on life support, much like what the Renegades were here. SB bringing in PG, FV and RP is a desperate measure and it will eventually backfire.
CSU brought LT in two years ago to lead and that was a terrible experience. He came in with promises of upgrading the coaching staff and brought in a couple of his ODP friends and it was a disaster. He had NEVER, EVER been a DOC of a club the size of Coral Springs, let alone working on the sidelines with a youth soccer club. He works with the ODP staff, but that is basically it. Looking at the BU staff for this year, it doesn't appear they even retained him as a coach in their club. You can't blame JW on that hire. You can blame the entire BOD. The BOD is not "hired" they are elected. If you don't like what is going on in the club, you can run for office. If you have any soccer experience maybe you can make a difference.
In the past couple of years, they have done an admirable job of getting rid of both the daddy and the mommy coaches. This year's slate of coaches does leave a lot to be desired. The numbers in the club are up so the proof will be in the pudding if they are going to be better.

The only successful teams they had were imported teams that were pre-Renegades (Kelly Winslow) and RS's group that was collected from around the state. No internal growth, just go out and grab every ODP player they could. PG is a terrible organizer, so he fell flat on his face in that role last year and that is why he wasn't brought back. It wasn't the work with just the younger teams, it is his entire body of work including the 14 team he was supposed to be coaching. At best, it was a division II team.

It is so sad and pathetic that you people have nothing better to do than bash innocent people and hide behind a keyboard! You all have some serious issues and no life!!!! Stop hiding behind a computer and being a coward ! MD & PG are good people who have cared about the club as well as the players and only had their best interest at heart ! There has never been any favoritism w/ either one of them . The DOC on the other hand JW only cares about his own kids and does not care about the future of the club or the players !
