That's correct. It's our lifestyle. The previous poster will never comprehend that to achieve something, you have to sacrifice. The drive is the easy part. Not only making the Surf team but getting respectable playing time, that is what is about. The dedication matters. That poster will never understand the joy of the big league win or yes even lifting the Superliga trophy.
Every kid makes those teams, lol! See above post regarding profit!

I agree that it is a business first. What is not true is that "every kid makes those teams". I know many kids that have not made numerous club teams. But yes, somebody will take "anybody's" money. If you want to pay, you will get on a team.

This is true but also like I said just like in GPS JF AS and MP use to ask parents and players to “bring a friend” because they almost most of the time didn’t have enough players to play even sometimes they would call MA GPS players to come play for them. During tryouts they look at numbers for example the A group if there was a talent at tryouts they take that talent and whoever came to tryouts and wasn’t considered to be on the A team they fill them in the B team so yes they take anyone

They take anyone that’s why teams now have a A, B, C team A meaning where the talented group is B and C the coaches at GPS would sell to the parents if your player would improve they would bring them up to the A team. But what they wanted from B & C team was charge them the what they wouldn’t charge to the A team for the spending or scholarships they would give to the A players

I don't follow what your trying to say. Are you saying clubs should not have B teams? I don't think you are saying that, but my kid plays in Mass, and "bring a friend" happens all the time. It happens everywhere. And yes, sometimes clubs do have to get kids from another team in that club to help out at games. Is the something new?

And your point is? This is nothing new for any club. It is up to the parent to decide if they want to pay the same price to be on B, C, and D team etc. I agree, very rarely does a kid from B-D get promoted to A, but again, that is the same at every club. Tell the truth. Your just trying to be the "tidal wave" to the Surfers?

There's the truth hidden in that response above. Fact is, second and third teams help to buffer the budgets for the players on the top team that have been provided scholarships. This is truth and has been the case for years (certainly the last 6 or so since the boom in the club growth in NE). Those teams also serve to provide players as attrition happens over the years or when teams age up to the larger rosters. If your kid sticks it out for years (or arrives in their last two-three years of club play), they may well make the first team if of quality. Club play at the younger ages is a sales pitch unless your kid is really top of the group and needs to play in a bigger pool like Massachusetts, where there are 5-6 more like him/her. If you have a good coach or professional trainers in your town program or available nearby, stay there. Save your money until Joe/Mary are 14 or so.

                      You dont want MLS next.
ECNL yes for girls and for boys it is just NPL with more travel
MLS next only benefits the Revs ,Bolts and Seacoast. NEFC, Baysidefc, Valeo and especially Juventus can't compete with any NY/NJ based teams.
The travel is awful and no need to go passed Hartford if you live in NE.

LR is a snake and a joke and a clown big feet that they call him in the soccer city all he does is take players from other teams that he's never coached and he tries to get all the credit which the players were at other organizations coached by real coaches If your player is not at that level he doesn't play them then the parents get upset and they leave his team and he get other place from his organization to play on his team while your kids are sitting the bench let's play time so he can win a game. Then when parents realize what's really going on there they realize **** I messed up by coming over here at this clown in this organization🤡🤡🤡🤡Go surf !!! I'll stay at nefc..NEFC doesn't miss him at all

Been following this TS thread for a while. My kid is not at Bayside or Surf but I do have friends who are at both clubs and have gone to Surf from Bayside. Speaking specifically about 2010 girls it’s been a tough year on those girls especially those who left Bayside in hopes of better coaching and opportunities at Surf. Those girls are kids. And they have been treated like pawns in a fight between club egos. Shame on those men. Some of the girls were hurt in the process of chasing wins and dueling egos. I don’t know much about LR coaching, don’t care. I do know many girls started a 2010 team with parents trusting a new club or following an old coach only to get benched when this coach found better players. Lots of girls were acquired this year from a couple clubs, sold a line, only to them be cut, benched or moved to the B team. I hope the girls are able to find their way back to Bayside or wherever they came from. Surf if you Cates about your players especially still so young you would not crush confidence you’d bring your team along and focus on player development. Your reputation of recruiting then dumping for better alllll year long has made many families upset and the word is getting around. Trust is gone. Unfortunate.

I'm not defending or condoning the above, but it literally happens at every club. Players get replaced, players get cut, players get benched. The higher the team/competitive level, the more cutthroat it is regarding play time and roster spots.

Club soccer isn't for everyone, despite what you hear about clubs just want dollars and will take anyone. The reality is many kids/families get discouraged when things don't work out, but that's part of life. The lesson is work harder on your technical skills, fitness/athleticism, etc and earn your spot if that's what you want. Otherwise, find a team/sport at a lower level/less commitment.

What happened this year at Surf, adding and subtracting players from a roster (2010) does NOT happen at every club. Cuts happen at the end after tryouts. Show some loyalty and commitment to families for the full year of their contract.

I have to beg to differ. Bayside has VERY fluid rosters and always pulls that move. Most clubs put a disclaimer in their handbook saying they reserve the right to move players based on development/needs of the team over the course of the season. Unless your kid was completely cut from the program, you probably don’t have much of a leg to stand on if your handbook says the same thing.
