Soccer is about to completely change in our country.
1. Talks of going back to grade do away with birth year. This is good for seniors especially.
2. Club soccer will barely survive the economic shutdown. Clubs will close.
3. Town soccer will become a priority again. Cheaper and easier to crowd control.
4. Club soccer teams that don’t close will no longer play at big venues like Forekicks too crowded.
5. College coaches will start connecting with high school coaches again.
6. Out of work club coaches will start applying for high school coaching jobs.
7. DA and ECNL will also no longer be the only pathway to D1.
8. Parents have no money now so again town soccer will prevail.
9. The joy of playing the game will come back as the win at all costs coaches lose jobs.
10. Finally, all of our priorities will shift after this virus. The need for tournaments to validate teams will go away. We might actually get back to the love of the game.

For those posting about not needing ECNL and using an NPL player at PC as an example, please go look at the rosters of the local D1 schools and see where 95% of players were playing previously. It isn’t NPL. The info is there, whether you choose to investigate or not is a different question.

Don't think anyone was posting about not needing ECNL. It's the top league, but not the only pathway to D1. I do think people take offense to a previous poster stating, "An decent female player from RI went to DA or ECNL." When they challenged others to name one current NPL player going D1, "at least four" were noted.
Just give credit to RI girls where it is due. The info is there, whether you choose to accept facts or not is a different question.
