Are you ranting about a refund of taxes pid because the kids are in a virtual classroom and likely not receiving the full education experience? How about school sports? Are you asking for a refund and complaining because school spring sports are shut down? How about colleges? They did partial refunds for meal plans and dorms, but nothing on tuition and fees while classes are virtual. Every college kid I’ve talked to says the online classes aren’t as good. Where is the outrage over the tuition bills?
Give me a break. You’ll get credit towards next season if there isn’t a spring season. Most clubs I’m aware of are taking that approach. If your club doesn’t, than change clubs. The reality is if a club doesn’t provide a credit or refund, they were likely on bad financial footing anyway amd will likely shutdown before long.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostClubs are in the "business" of teaching soccer? Hmmmm. I think that clubs are in the business of making money. They make money by offering supposedly better coaching and competition. I am sorry but you cannot compare public school teaching with teachers all day to a couple times a week zoom "practice." The clubs zoom practices and foot skills are not what parents paid for. They paid for a real live team training, and let's face it out kids aren't playing soccer right now. Not really. So lets just call it what it is You Tube virtual soccer with a fancy club name. Not at all equal to being part of a team playing other teams. So the only thing the clubs can do is apply the spring fees to fall. If they don't, they are a fraud. They also should not be holding tryouts for fall. Keep rosters as they are.

We talked to our coach today at GPS and he told us the club aren’t planning on giving and refunds or credits. But they are offering players a zero down payment for next year. Are customers really going to fall for this?
I have already talked to my lawyer and expect a full refund.

I'll be surprised if that club continues to exist in the fall.
Hi, just reading these comments. Has anyone from any club NEFC, Bayside, GPS, Bruno, etc received a refund or any email re: what the refund amount would be?
Like a poster I have a graduating senior and we can't take a credit towards the Fall.
Feel naive but I honestly would have thought our club would have sent updated and committed to something by now.
And we have heard little to nothing.

Just received the email. Wow, 45% thank you SO much NEFC. Even though I have a HS school kid and got maybe 10-15% of the Season. Did they get a PPP loan? Did they pay fields? So many coach's are part time - they probably weren't paid.Yet we are to eat this because the club needs it? Oh, and we can donate our 45%.
Poor Form NEFC.

Club Rankings
Thanks for posting the updated info and recommending finding out more before signing anything with Surf.
Here’s what I have found out with my own sleuthing. The parent company Surf San Diego is ranked the 6th best club in the country for girls and 15th for boys. I noticed NEFC on boys(87th)and girls(32nd) as well as the New England Revolution(28th), Scorpions Soccer girls(87th) South Shore Select (25th), FC Stars MA(27th)and Connecticut FC(61st).All ranked in the top 100 on soccerwire. (Links below) I don’t see any others from New England on that list but I don’t know them all. Seems that Surf is doing something right if they are ranked so highly and have a lot to offer the east coast. Looks like those other clubs are as well here in New England. Everyone’s experience within the same club, team, coach etc is different. Make your own decisions for your player and family. Wish you all the best navigating through it all.
