SK looked great against Tiverton yesterday! 10-0 I believe was the final. I left at 7 or 8. Even though they played a very weak team you can tell they are one of, if not, the team to beat. Should be an interesting season.

Now that's funny. We couldn't get it past half field against Mt. hope yesterday.

Sorry, but you can't use an injury fund scrimmage for any clue on the season. SAT's were yesterday so lots of players out. Coaches experimenting with rosters. Come back after a few weeks in September

SK will be a good team. No doubt about it. That team is together year round. That helps.

I've seen this girl play. She's average at best. Wouldn't get much playing time if she even made varsity. The DA program didn't get all of the top players believe me a lot of girls chose not to go that route because they wanted to play Highschool soccer. This conversation started by listing certain teams that would be missing some of their players because they chose to do DA. And then mom and dad had to bring up their incoming freshman prodigy that couldn't even dominate the middle school league last year. But all of a sudden she's this dynamic player because they say so. PLEASE
Your a DB! Actually I am not associted with this girl in anyway! And the only girls that really asked for waivers for fall season were private schools girls that "HAD" to play ha soccer! Get ur facts straight before u speak!

Why did they "have " to play HS soccer ? The girls that got waivers from Lasalle don't "have" to play highschool soccer there is no scholarship $$$ if you play a sport there. They chose to play highschool soccer. So get your facts straight.

Pretty simple. Almost all the waiver kids got some type of "aid" from the private schools in Mass. They can't give athletic scholarships, but they figure it out. How else are middle class kids who happen to be top level soccer players attend private schools that cost double , sometimes triple what it cost to attend LaSalle?

You know this a RI thread correct ? We are talking about RI girls that got waivers from RI schools. Don't really care about What happens in Mass. I also know girls that got waivers to play for a Mass public school so it's not just for private school kids. Just because you say that DA is the only way to go. Doesn't mean it is. Some girls enjoy playing highschool. It is what it is. I bet your daughter wants to play highschool too. But you put it in her mind that it's a bad idea. But you'll have her go and watch all of her high schools games to see her friends play. While wearing her Breakers gear in the stands.

Lasalle must be so proud to have an unfair advantage and beat all those public schools.

Well, look at it from LSA's perspective (or the church's perspective in an era of declining financial positions for the catholic church).

Play in some private school league with far greater travel costs, no recognizable benefit from a "championship" (ever see a NEPSAC league/champion highlights on local TV); don't the better (larger) MASS privates play in MIAA? probably less chance for your better players to rack up stats and "all-whatever" accolades..lose your standing in the PCOA/RIIL?

Since you're never going to win on the point with PCOA about "aid" manipulation, the best way is to move to public school open enrollment options. You have a taste of that now with the HS CTE programs where kids can go to some high schools if they enroll as a CTE student (not talking the Chariho/Coventry etc vo-tech programs). In theory, a student in a smaller program could go to a D1 HS with a CTE program at no cost even if it was mainly to play in the D1 sport program (assuming you make the team, but you run that risk at a LSA or BH as well)

LSA can spend $4 million on turf fields but not $30 bucks for an extra tank of gas for the bus?

Right..because they get the $4M because of all the accolades and D1 RI crowns..think some of that capital campaign money would flow in if they were middle of some NEPSAC pack consistently?

What's up with RIIL website on standings; mixing D1, D2, etc..
