Thank you we are not naming kids on here!

Thank You that is correct there is a rising freshman coming into MT Hope who played Breakers ECNL, one of the top scores on the team, this past year won the National champion in Indiana and is now playing DA for the Breakers.

And how does that effect Mt Hope in any way shape or form ? She's never been on the team so how will she be missed ? Mommy and daddy trying to promote their daughter. Is all this is. I've seen this girl play. She's average at best. Wouldn't get much playing time if she even made varsity. The DA program didn't get all of the top players believe me a lot of girls chose not to go that route because they wanted to play Highschool soccer. This conversation started by listing certain teams that would be missing some of their players because they chose to do DA. And then mom and dad had to bring up their incoming freshman prodigy that couldn't even dominate the middle school league last year. But all of a sudden she's this dynamic player because they say so. PLEASE

Wow, still a DB. I'm not associated in any way with the girl you are so easy to trash. I guess it makes you feel better to so easily disregard and marginalize an obviously very talented 14 year old girl. Please share where your daughter plays so we can all come watch your "dynamic" player in action and decide for ourselves what kind of dominate player she really is. Loser!

This is a RI HS girls soccer thread. This girl hasn't played and won't play HS Soccer. Nobody knows who she is and she won't be missed because she was never on a RI HS team in the first place. Nobody cares. There are many RI boys and girls soccer players that don't play for a RI HS soccer team, not just this girl.

If you can't figure out what was wrong with the earlier post (or were the DB who posted), then I'm sorry for you. Obviously she has never played HS nor will she have any impact on a team she's never played for. The personal attack on her by the OP was the douchey part.

Exactly why would anyone even mention this girl if she won't ever be playing highschool soccer? Other than her parents. No one knows her. But felt the need to try and promote her on this thread. Dumb move mom and dad.

Prout are the team to fear over the next 5 years - about time we got some international flavor in HS soccer in RI.

Sure. Prout is a team to fear. Why not?

One of dumbness statement I have never heard. If she good enough to play for DA why would HS matters. HS soccer are for losers who can't make DA.

Ok keep telling yourself that. Not every girl wants to play DA and as a matter of fact a lot of the girls that got a DA spot asked for waivers for the highschool season. So they could continue to play highschool in the fall and then DA in the spring. Only upper class men were even considered for waivers. I know of girls that were only offered DA spots for the fall and when these waiver players come back in the spring would then have to go back to an NPL team. What a slap in the face that is. DA is still too new and ECNL will continue to be the top league for now. What are you looking for your daughter to achieve at the end of the tunnel? Is she a national team prospect ?? Probably not College player ? Likely. But you can achieve that just by playing on an NPL team. Why make it a job for a 14 yr old kid ? And take away the highschool experience with friends ? The DA program will ruin girls soccer. Look at the history of the boys DAP program and tell me what you think plenty of those boys end up wanting to come back to play highschool soccer because they miss it. And if your not getting national team interest why bother. It's all a sham. Just like the whole birthyear change that happened this past year. Another sham.

DA is a new program. The best girls play ECNL. Maybe in 5 years DA could surpass ECNL but not before then. But the NEFC Breakers are an exception to this rule as they excelled in their only year of ECNL. But who will they play in DA league that can give them a decent game?

Just a few points that carry over year to year for RI Girls soccer.

                                (1) LSA will be in the top 2 as a given every year. The system is unfair, but it is what it is. Soccer is an irrelevant sport to RIIL and the privates (esp LSA) are over represented at RIIL and PCOA so nobody is going to change that. At best, because a sport like football is relevant, you get a bone to the public schools with their token "NOT LSA-BH" best public football team.

Soccer..nobody of importance at PCOA/RIIL cares unless there is an incident that makes trouble for them. Otherwise, shut up, pay your dues, and contribute to the $M in the injury fund

                                (2) The coaching point applies to most teams, but not LSA (all a bad coach can do there is maybe cost them a game because it ends up in a tie and goes to PK) or any team that has a truly top caliber player plus decent supporting cast (in key position like GK).

                                (3) The coaching point applies in spades to those who either think they can actually 'coach" like a club team or worse bring a personal component though connection to certain players/families. The best thing a HS coach can do is forget the "whip them into shape" or "this is your only thing for the next 12 weeks of practice, games, team bonding, fund raisers, blah blah" attitudes.

The best coaches at HS are good managers. Put players in the best spot given the strengths and weakness of the team. Focus on things that do make a difference - set pieces, situational practice. Adjust for each game based on how it's going and don't fall in love with your "style" or bench/threaten players because of crappy results because they don't get your "system."

                                (4) It's school soccer; it never will be as good as club soccer should be for obvious reasons including, but not limited to, greater disparity of talent, coaching, refs, imbalance of games vs training, fields (although less of an issue as more schools get turf), game times of HS vs. club, coming off summer (when kids are supposed to be taking a break! according to USSF) as opposed to coming off 4-6 months of training, on and on.

But there is something to playing for your school.. awful and maddening as it can be to watch..
