Who really cares! RIGSCA and RIIL do not care about JV and feel it is just prep for Varsity.
For the most part LASalle NK Ports Cumb and SK have the Jv teams. Also, there is a big difference from JV to Varsity. Even if NK does win, it does not mean they will be better than LaSalle, Ports etc... for the next couple of years. Just means they have a good jv team right now. At the very least they are getting something. However, there should be at least a 6-8 team tournament for them. Give the kids something to play for. Go LaSalle!

Don't blame RIGSCA! The coaches want a better tournament for their jv teams. Someone has to step up and organize it. RIIL? A member of RIGSCA? Someone has to do it or there will continue to be a two team tourny.

RISCA pushed for JV playoff matrixs for last 10 yrs. AD's and RIIL shut down playoffs this year. All coaches realize JV is the future and their own playoffs gives valuable experience to younger players. No money to be made so RIIL is out on concept of JV playoffs. AD's feel it is a waste of money. IE refs and transportation so they are out. This years coaches had D1 and D2 soccer jamboree's in a pool play format to have something at end of year. Parents and players have to put pressure on Districts, AD's, and RIIL to continue JV States because it does matter.
