Have you seen the girl play? Obviously not...She is absolutely an ecnl quality player

Went to all games Saturday, well played games. Congrats to all the winning teams / clubs,

Just curious though, still have no Idea who this midfield prodigy is? Didn't see any player on either U13 team that was a super star stand out, certainly not ECNL quality....

U13 was a quite game with very little energy, Bayside had two quality chances in the first half but nothing more. Bayside would go on to score first with NEFC rounding out the scoring on a free kick and PK late to seal the deal. ( I was told bayside missing 8-10 players) bit of a snooze fest but it was 8am.

U14 Had much more energy most of it coming from the sidelines. Bayside seemed to be in control and had most of the possession for much of this match. Bruno may have been short changed on a goal that was waved off by the linesman. Bayside hit the post 2 or 3 times prior to scoring the game winner. Parents are out of control. The actions of the parents in this game forced the refs to close the gates. In the end Bruno Parents were the bigger issue but they lost. If the shoe was on the other foot I am sure it would have been the same crap.

U15 for me had the makings of being the best match of the day, both teams full of talented players and good coaching on both ends. After in early Bruno goal a foolish foul on the edge of the box would prove to be the momentum swing bayside needed. Bayside would score on a cross in the box and moments later would be the benefactor of a harsh handball call that resulted in a PK and 2-1 Bayside lead. This game would quickly spin out of control with Bruno receiving a red card followed by 4 more reds cards to force an 9v8 match for the remaining 10 mins. Bruno would go on to tie it up only to fall 3-2 in OT. I felt Bruno was the better team on the day but couldn't over come the red cards. this would be a scary team if combined just IMO.

U16 NEFC was in control from start and in possession through out most of the game. Rams were organized but just didn't have much going forward. This game was a bit of a dud. Easy 2-0 win for NEFC. IMO this is the weakest age group in RI. Bruno/Bayside combined 15 would beat these teams by 2 or 3 goals.

U17 Boys was like watching a car crash in slow motion, it was only a matter of time before the cards would come out. Bruno's direct style of play and the weather made for a cringe worthy match. 17 year old boys (big boy's) full of testosterone and poor officiating made for an interesting 80 mins. in the end Bruno fought hard and earned the W. this game was border line scary and one tackle away from a broken leg.

U18 boys had to be the laugher of the day. IMO this age group should be removed from the tournament. Bayside was the better side even after giving up 4 first half goals. You might be asking how thats possible and the answer is no GK! I almost felt bad for the Bayside players who had to step in and play GK. 3 of the 6 goals were something you would see on a U8 field. With a half way decent GK in goal this game is 5-2 with out question. Honestly the game was a joke and waste of time. I hope those NEFC boys don't have to go to Colorado.
OP - Great recaps. Wish I was there to watch the games. The 3 surprises to me was the U13,U15 & U18. I did not realized that half to Bayside U13 are in Portugal. But you play with what you have. Great win for NEFC. Sad ending to the U15 game. And again great job for NEFC with the U18. The biggest loser of the boys finals is Bruno with only 1 cup.

The goal keeper was definitively a difference. He did a good job and really only let up 2 goals that a normal keeper would have stopped. With that said, NEFC had a couple mistakes that resulted in a couple games. The keeper has nothing to do with pressure NEFC was able mount time and time again. While Bayside may have owned possession, NEFC had more pressure in the box. As for a joke and waste of time, I'm not sure. There were 28 players who busted there ass to play hard, and play hard they did. This game was physical and very high paced. Many players had cramps for their working so hard. All the players should be proud of the efforts.

You should know U18 only has regionals and don't have to go to Colorado.

I have been on this site for a long time, always the worse comment is from a losing parent about the winning team getting blown out at regionals/finals. What is that saying about your child's team

My child's team isn't in this age group or in either club. But if this person is going to come here and bragged about no one being able to beat their kids soccer team in the entire state, like they have beaten 100 teams, someone is going to call them out on it. And as far as going to Colorado, it is the most ridiculous rule that Rhode Island and other New England teams sends their state cup winners directly to nationals without having to go through a regional playoff system. That is the real problem.

It's a pretty sad situation when you have as many bench clearing brawls, which include parents going after players on the field, as you have State Cup Championship wins.

                Great job JT. #GoBruno

Half the Bayside u13 team was in Portugal. U12 kids filled in. Tough because the players had never played together and didn't know each other. NEFC fought hard though. Good luck to them at next game.

Yeah, I can't believe State Cup winners are going to Nationals!! What the _ _ _ _! Totally unacceptable!! Never in my life have I seen something so ridiculous!! I am so pissed we are not Goi..... Oh wait..... I can't believe it, what a travesty!!!!

BTW, I am stomping my foot AND I have my hands on my hips while I wrote this, just to show how serious I am about my disapproval of this.

Not quite sure that Bruno fought hard, as much as they play like a bunch of punks all under the tutelage of JT. Time wasting antics, kick and run, whining. I get they may want to do these things in a mild manner, but their disgusting lack of sportsmanship leaves one shaking their head. Such an embarrassment to the sport. People really pay for this? Such a shame.
