OSS U12 Boys to GPS?

Rumor has it that one of the Ocean State U12 boys teams (coach to remain nameless) has been picked up by GPS South so they can play games in the NEP this fall. GPS South already has a U12B team aligned with SC that plays in the NEP. Does anyone think this is the start of a south county consolidation at the premier level, or is it a one-time thing?

Backdoor into NEP? Hopefully they have a decent team, no need to dilute NEP further. That's what Maple and Superliga are for.

You're misinformed. The OSS team is listed as the GPS RI South Premier team in the NEP schedule under The BU12 Premiership 1 division. This is also confirmed by parents of said OSS team as well.

That explains why they did not go with Bruno. Imagine an affiliate team seated ahead of your own club team. They parents will have your head. Good move on their on the OSS team.

Seems like that team played as "GPS" in this weekend's NEFC kickoff..strange for Bruno to have an alliance with OSS and yet the best young team you would want to pick off from OSS plays under GPS.. seemed to do okay..beat one of the teams in their NEP bu12 premiership league..

OP is right..OSS is listed playing in Bu12 premiership..higher placement that the Bruno Bu12 team..no wonder why Bruno didn't want them listed under their NEP affiliation...

Interesting model -- the other GPS Bu12 in NEP shows up under South County..

Not sure what then the point is for OSS to have an alliance with Bruno if their best team plays under GPS (but must still register as OSS as they practice/play there).

Why not partner with GPS as a whole? Be curious what uniform that team wears..

JT insisted coaching the team so no other option for the coach. He decided the affliation is not worth his sacrifice.

No, the boys are too. Only one of the boys teams has GPS coaches, though. The others have South coaches and will compete in the NEP under the GPS name. Look at the link somebody posted above for the south teams and they tell you who the coaches are of each team and which club they represent.
