Anything yet from the clubs or leagues about the switch to January 1 for the birth date cutoff. Seems like state organizations that are putting out announcements are going with this next round of tryouts as the starting date rather than waiting another year.

I have been wondering about this too.

2016 recommended
2017 mandatory

so for June 2016 tryouts would the birth year switch be recommended or mandatory?

As the soccer season would be 16/17

I'm curious to know when this will actually effect current soccer clubs needing to
re-tool rosters for birth year.
