    USYS State Cup

So is there even going to be a USYS State Cup this year/ will it mean anything with NEFC, Bayside, and Bruno all moving to USClub?

Games are already being played and yes, it will mean everything to the team's that entered. IMO this is the only year these teams get to experience state cup wins because BFC, Bruno, NEFC and the rest will be entering their B and C teams next year. This is most likely a one year anomaly.

Pretty sad that there are age groups with only one team entered. I mean can you really proudly call yourself state cup winner when you played no one and win by default for just entering and paying the fee?

I do hope that the premier clubs do enter their B & C teams next into this next year, but sad to see USYS State Cup will really be the second league cup, with US Club State Cup being the true state cup.

what is the difference between 1 team and 3 teams in the USCLUB RI state cup.

so much different now that they went to US Club State CUP ...NOT!!

Yep, it would be nice if there was just one real state cup where all teams are involved (including Premier A & B teams and all Anchor Travel Teams.(of course most of these Anchor teams are filled with premier players too!)

But our state is definitely too small to have more than one state cup. Of course, one of the top premier teams will probably win most of the age groups, but at least there will be more than one game to be played and the results can be proven on the field.

Just looked and they have two girls teams. One is in the last possible bracket at U13 and the other is in U11 also bottom brackets. What a sales pitch. They put pre ecnl and parents bite. Pre ecnl should mean you play in top brackets not bottom brackets. Maybe they should call it not ecnl but close to town soccer. They are both undefeated and parents paying for that. Not surprised that coaches trying to get wins with new program so parents can see how good they are doing. Should be illegal.

The Stars South is not based in RI, but up near Bridgewater, MA. The Pre-ECNL team that is in lowest U13 division is actually a U12 team. I'm actually an NEFC parent, but thought you should be giving correct info. I agree about their U11 South team. They went undefeated in Fall too, and should have moved up at least to Championship. It's a joke they did not.

My kid plays for U12 RI strikers and we are basically a town team playing 2 brackets higher in U13 than that U12 team. Are you telling me that we are better than the mighty stars pre ecnl team. We probably are and at least our coach tries to give us competition and challenge the kids. I just hate it when clubs take advantage of kids and parents but parents are so blind with the Stars logo that they don't even ask what divisions they play in. Wake up people, your getting scammed. Hope you don't pay more than $1000 for that U13 pre ecnl bottom brackets. Have you figured out that the soccer is no better than a town game. That's what you get in bottom brackets.

You are so right. All those programs should be striving to achieve the status and level of the RI Strikers.

Hate to break it to you RI Strikers ... Playing in the Championship division is the same as playing in the Championship Central division. Both are bottom division at U13, just broken into regions. You are not playing two brackets up from them.

Originally they wanted to be RI because they did clinics in Warwick. There are Rhode Island players on their teams.
