We live in a capitalist society so I can't fault the club's trying to get the best bang for the bucks and trying to get more control of their products. I do agreed that the legacies cost of doing business with USY and SRI have not been in the best interest of youth development. SRI tried to control years ago with regional clubs but trying to force things in a capitalist society does not work. The marketplace will determine what works and what doesn't.

If you need to point figures then you should direct the to the town clubs. They have not do a good enough work if player development and player ID. They should be promoting player to seek better training and competition by moving players up in the player development pyramid. Instead, they have developed this adversary relation against premier clubs. I'm glad to see some clubs recognized the benefits of developing a collarative relationship with premier clubs thereby allows their players to move up the pyramid.

Good points, but let's remember that SRI worked hard to thwart the "market" and subsidize underperforming/weak town associations. Premier clubs have to share some of the blame in the general adversarial relationship too. They could have come in filling more of the transitional space in a collaborative way (although I know some towns would not be open) or advocating with SRI for things like Academy style system for u8/u10. Instead, they were more than happy to have the MAPLE/Superliga divide and the premier clubs let the tag "premier' become a watered down label..
