Bayside will be loosing girls to nefc, stars etc. The club parents always want something better than what they have. Really looking forward to the next couple of years

You're playing 6v6 now at u10 (maybe 8v8) and you are carrying a roster for that. As hard as it may be for you to realize this right now, no matter how good you think your town team is, and they may be great, I don't know, it will be close to impossible for you to recruit the players you'll need to grow your roster to be competitive at 11v11. Kids from other towns just won't go play for another town team if they are elite type players. They will migrate to clubs that the infrastructure to attract top talent. The clubs that have college coaches, the ins to all the big tourneys, etc... Just enjoy what you have and cherish it while it lasts. You're lucky to have what you have right now.
Then add that as nice as u10 is because (most) coaches get it and everyone plays somewhat equally, once they hit 8 v 8 and Susie or Johnny does not get equal playing time, it's the better to be the A player on a B team than the B player on the A team effect.
Then add when they hit u14 and HS that "wow, there's a lot of other things I want to do and so now some of those still very good players that are on the town team still like soccer, just don't want to commit as much as Susie or Johnny (or their parents) do
Hate to be a downer, but the system SRI created was meant to promote premier, not higher level (older) town programs...how many do you see doing well enough to compete in state cup or a premier league after u12 (even with the community rule going away at u14)? South County had a team or two that got to u14 I think, you see Smithfield Strikers as an attempt to bridge this gap (but even then it had to become a premier program), Portsmouth, Ocean State, Cumberland, Lincoln..probably leaving out a few others..they don't sustain for those reasons cited above (and others)..

Bayside will be losing some key girls players to NEFC next year. better players are realizing NEFC is the better choice long term, better coaching and opportunities for growth.

And as far as the regional scam NEFC and every other club do it, Bayside included. Lets make a few teams in the same age group. Great idea now lets combine the top players make them travel to Marlborough and leave the rest of the teams wondering what happen to the top 2% of the players on the team. Hence the word scam!

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostYou definitely posted on the right thread. This is comical!!! For the past few years we heard this same crap coming from NEFC south coast parents. How great their teams were and how they would beat Bayside. And on just about every occasion in multiple age groups. The results spoke for themselves. Bayside won just about every matchup. We never really heard much from Blackwatch as far as boasting or claiming superiority. So all this talk is obviously coming from an NEFC south coast transfer. Or it could possibly be Martin himself. The only team that most likely has improved since the merger is Martins U14 team. But Bayside has also added more depth to an already good team at this age group. Until they actually play each other we won't know. Time will tell
