NK can never be counted out. EG & BV look good but the keep for NK is amazing.

Ask anyone involved with ODP--the new EWG keeper is outstanding. EWG defense is really not very solid, but for their keeper they would probably be much lower in the standings. So while NK also has an excellent keeper, it comes down to which team has the offense to keep the opposing goalie off balance. Got to go with EWG on that one. Maybe a low scoring game, but I don't see NK getting the edge today.

The top 4 teams are not as solid as some people thought. If NK and Coventry can sneak up on EWG and EG, and if PROUT can tie La Salle, I think it is fair to say that this season has not yet even begun.

Like Smithfield come playoff time, playoff experience with players and coaches after winning it all last year. If center back healthy will be a tough out for any.

and SK tied BV is there a full moon?

Beneficiary here is Smithfield..should cinch 6th seed.. BV let a golden opp to get up to 2 seed slip away..although still possible with what should be easy win vs CW and a definitely winnable game at NK while EG has no easy task with surging SK and then LSA.

SK is next gainer..can win vs. Mt Hope and possibly get a pt vs EG..could move up to 7 seed.. EWG let an opportunity to cinch 3rd slip away..dominated play for the most part but previous poster had good pt about NK GK keeping them in matches and EWG had mental mistake to let 3 pts turn into just 1..

Portsmouth has chance to make a big move too so does not bode well for NK team that has BV and Portsmouth teams left on the schedule who both will be hunt for 1st round bye and possibly 3 seed.. 8th seed will be bad position as LSA is looking like the 1 seed and will be a tough qfinal for any 8th seed.. EG as 2 seed could be knocked off by a surging 7 seed team.. Smithfield could be dangerous at 6 seed if it is EWG or Portsmouth at 3 seed.

You are asking for trouble here.

Agree..philosophically you might start with teams that have talent and talent in the pipeline (ie. consistent strong JV programs) yet underperform..

but sometimes there are circumstances unknown to most except those involved with the program that might influence keeping or not keeping regardless of the record.. not saying for soccer specifically, but some programs have winning records in spite of uninspiring and in some cases ethically challenged coaches while some coaches make it a truly rewarding co-curricular experience..because let's face, only a very small fraction of kids are moving on to play at the next level so wins-losses are what most see across the board, but all the counts to the actual student-athletes..

What D1 teams should consider coaching changes at the end of the season?????

The only coach I haven't heard anything other than good things about is the BV coach.

The rest of them either I haven't heard much if anything or it has been mostly negative. I am sure there are god coaches out there I just haven't heard them talked about and I only really know D1 anyway.

The top teams are usually the ones with the best club players and the coach manages not to do any damage. Sometimes though they are given so much talent they win in spite of themselves.

The worst ones manage to turn something that should be fun into a miserable grind.
