What about EWG they beat SK last night? Never thought EWG would be 2-0 maybe they need to be watched.

last year this thread was full of people trash talking EWG for being in D2. Now that they are in D1 it's no fun anymore. D1 teams actually have to play EWG rather than just talking on this site how much better D1 is than D2. Plus, the biggest goofs (Bruno Dad, Portsmouth guy, Rayside Guy) have all moved on. I think they took up knitting.

no one even does the predictions anymore for the games. Sad. I predict Smithfield will win today. Does that help life anyone's spirits?

Smithfield will be fine - work in progress in many of the positions on the field with a outstanding defender and midfielder on the roster.

Portsmouth dad and bruno dad were awesome. Sucks when your kids age out and you don't have anymore fire int he belly to come on TS and lob bombs each during the fall.

The other things is that there is so much parity, the predictions don't matter cause it's a crapshoot. Years ago it was predictions but with outrageous scores to underscore how dominant one school was over the other.

not really since they aren't playing today? Their next game is vs Prout saturday night.

Wouldnt be surprised if they get beat by prout who's coming off embarrassing loss to toll gate, that had to hurt.

I think an early poster had it right ref smithfield; they caught a tough schedule and could easily be 2-5 or 1-4-2 by mid season..but if you want to elevate the next D2-D1 discussion, I predict Burrillville wins or ties against Smithfield at the end of the month, especially since Smithfield has to play EWG the night before..

Some games that will help sort out the picture.. EWG and EG..EWG goes to 3-0..SK at Portsmouth.. LaSalle will roll over CW..see if Toll Gate's win at Prout means more about Prout than TG when TG visits NK..

Prout pretty much smoked TG for the first 60 minutes of game but couldn't score, they hit 3 to 4 posts, had breakaway shots directly at goalie, etc.

Classic case of exhausting an tremendous amount of energy without anything to show for it, TG had a great opportunity and hit a shot from 25 yards out in the sweet spot around the 60 minute mark, Prout kids checked out after that.

I'd keep my money on NK although did confirm the assessment that Prout will probably score about 2 goals this season.

South needs to win against Portsmouth. SK took EWG for grantred and paid the price--also got somewhat robbed by having to play a D3 team in the injury fund game. SK needs to get back to last year's level of play.

EG is also a must win against EWG today. Trouble is, they will most likely lose. Their performace so far has been less than enough to get past the better teams. If they don't show a dose of toughness today, they will not get past NK, LSA, or Bay View--teams which will be playing in the postseason.

honestly, if Burrillville played Smithfield today, I would bet the score would be 5-0 (or more) Burrillville. Smithfield has yet to come together as a team and Burrillville has shredded their opponents--EWG is lucky they moved to an easier division.
