NEFC now has two GA teams. RI Surf and Bayside each have a GA team. If you are a half way decent player you can now call yourself “national” in the B league. What a watered down mess!

Couldn't agree more. What a joke! As usual the RI players get screwed. NEFC just took all their top teams and essentially put them in the equivalent of the original DPL. LOL. I was worried a bit for ECRL but now ... At the HS age I would still flock to ECRL if on bubble of ECNL squad. Especially at Scorpions where there is a history of players moving up. NEFC trying to be slick but I think they may have sealed their fate as at best an unstable second level pathway. They will probably continue to lose top coaches as well.

Nothing changes. Nobody who’s really good will move clubs now. Basically, every team pretty much stays the same, yet now they all play in the same league. NEFC 2nd team will be North Shore, this has zero effect on RI/South Eastern MA.
GA now has 6 New England Teams (SeaCoast, NEFC, NEFC NS, Bayside, RI Surf and Oakwood) and 6 NY/NJ teams. Look for a North/South Conference alignment. Better games and competition for Bayside, RI surf and NEFC NS than they currently have.
Three teams close to SE Mass/RI only hurts Scorpions RL and RL Lite #facts

I’m sorry but i’m going to be the voice of reason. Your daughter can play ECNL, ECRL1 or 2, GA, DPL and it won’t matter. The end result will be very little in terms of your kids college “path”. The players from NE have an uphill climb trying to get a spot on a D1 team. Even in the past 5 years it’s become so insanely competitive with players coming from better teams all over the country. Most of our daughters will play for D3 colleges (and not fancy ones) if anything. Many many players won’t play beyond high school. So sure go ahead fight over your leagues, club hop, get worked up, but in the end it will make little difference.

Only a parent who has no idea could possibly make a comment that the league "will make little difference".

Anyone heard how the GA ID Clinics are looking so far? Are local players giving the new GA clubs a close look?

I think the GA IDs are just getting started. If you are a HS aged player, still worth going to an ID or skip it and go to a team practice?

But do go into it knowing GA is weaker in competition than ECNL. Your player will play at a higher level for league games if you go to Scorpions. They compete now locally against South Shore Select and Stars the two top clubs in MA. The ECNL showcases are a big draw for college coaches. NEFC in MA is the other GA club Surf and Bayside will play. NEFC very good but also losing players and coaches. However NEFC will crush Bayside and Surf leaving both clubs out of playoffs. You want to be on teams that play good competition and strong enough to make playoffs.
Bayside, Scorpions, Stars White, FSA, CFC, Seacoast (to name a few), all place players, in some cases almost their entire rosters, into college programs from DI - DIII every year from what I can tell.
