ECNL Regional League was supposed to be the biggest thing ever. EVER….. What happened??
Now I don’t know what is up and what is down. I’m so confused.

I didn’t think anyone could FIVE-peat. Congrats to Bayside Players, coaches and parents. Five leagues in five years!!! Most folks don’t have the stones to do that to their friends and families, but you did it!!!!
    Looking forward to #6!!

At what point in history was it ever positioned by anyone from anywhere that ECNLR was the "biggest thing ever"?

          Here comes the deflection.

It was, last March, from Bayside. Telling players “it’s our pathway to the National League”.

Nobody knew that meant GA as the actual National Platform. All good. Now we get it. Congrats again!!

Not a deflection, actually have a decent distaste for Bayside.

But, seems if someone is telling them something is a pathway to someone else, that would lead anyone to think they are not in the "biggest thing ever".

Well they ended up in the second best league with each stop being better than the previous.

Plus two of the 5 does not exist anymore, one is the B league for the league they just got into, one was a new league that saw massive defections after year 1. And the most recent resulted in player defections at the younger age groups.

This is actually good for RI. Another option for kids. Now if anyone cares about the kids RI Surf and Bayside would merge.

GA is he best pathway for RI Players now. With the ECRL you are playing the 3rd best team for that club, not too many colleges are going to be interested in watching those games.

Current GA teams now are NEFC, Seacoast, Oakwood all have solid programs with a ton of D1 commits. It will be interesting to see what players jump, but if I was a Surf player or disgruntled Scorps player it is a good place to land.

Agreed. If you are RI player, why travel all of the way to NEFC with Bayside in your backyard.

Also a nice option for talented players to say in RI vs chasing the badge and settling for Scorpions. Good luck to Scorpions ...... select positioned to once again dominate the south shore and some RI players may decide to stay home.

Parents, mostly. To be fair, haven't come across them in years as we now run in different circles. But, watching a grown, drunken man looking to start a fight with a teenage ref while his 13-year old daughter sits down and cries on the pitch tends to stick with you. Dude was screaming "remember this face" as he went, and I have. Sadly, that wasn't even outside the norm for the parents.

I have seen ridiculous parent behavior from a lot of different clubs we have played. But yes, some Bayside parents can also display bad behavior on the side lines. I think this is a reflection of the lack of self control on that specific person and not a reflection on a club as a whole

I have not played Bayside since u little but the side line behavior was done by the vast majority of parents. Not isolated to one team either. I’ve had 3 kids come through and it has been universally true of Bayside as well as affiliated clubs like Bayside Delmonico.

Can't tell for sure. Played them maybe 6-7 times and there was always some controversy. I've seen a parent yelling on the actual field under a dozen times in my life, and half of them were Bayside parents. Right up there with Cali. Crazy stuff.

I know a couple of their coaches and think they are great people but truthfully, I think they should've done more, though.
