There is no reason why PC could not have competed in Big East especially this year. The 3 toughest teams left (ND, UConn & Syracuse). This was the year to make a strong showing and they are going to come in last or 2nd to last in conference. PC needs to make a change and show they care about the woman's soccer program.

needs to get beyond the northeast and find some recruits, not one player from further than NJ on roster.

Bet you the two RI Scorps ECNL players aren't feeling too good right now about chances to land a commitment to PC in the next year.

      Best laid plans...

PC Coach. How has he kept his job?

JM record in Big East in the 9 years since he has been at PC is 21-80-9. Are you kidding me?

Well, you need to separate between the old big east and the new big east..as an earlier poster noted, the new big east is a league PC should be competitive..given they lost 2 league games in OT, were in most league games except Marquette and have their top scorers are only sophomores, PC may give him another year..

All the more reason they should have made the playoffs this year. If you thought they were in most league games this year you didn't go to many games.

found this link on the Massachusetts pages. Interesting, but I think PC ws very much slighted by not being on the list of elite schools.

UConn is not listed. That site doesn't seem legit!

Did you look under "College of the Holy Cross"?

First, HC is listed (look under Patriot League).

Second, the site is mainly for highly academically selective schools so most of the publics (even if the public is strong academically) are not going to be listed. My first guess is their business model correlates "family looking at selective college and playing high level soccer" equals "has money to spend on a service like this" and my second guess (which I don't know) is those colleges may have to pay as well to be listed (get to advertise their camp and filters out their recruiting if it is true the site only attracts student-athletes who are strong academically and have some $$).

I have no doubt PC would qualify based on their academics for at least a 2 star rating (looking at their rating chart metrics), but maybe PC chooses not to pay based on the recruiting processes already in place.

I doubt the schools have to pay to be listed. The site simply takes the top 100 schools as far as selectivity goes and lists them in different categories. Anyone can go on to usnews, alumnifactor, or forbes, and find out quickly what the top schools are. That does not meant they are the "best" schools for everyone, but they have met some pre-determined standard and been labeled as the top. No one is going to go to this elite soccer website to learn what the most selective schools are, but they may be able to validate what they think they already know.

I'd be more interested in the percentage of graduates that find a job in their field of study within 6 months of graduation, annual starting salary of graduates and income at age 30, 35, 40.

This whole "best school" thing is really a lot of status crap. In real life, it's all about the individual, interviewing skills, work ethic, interpersonal skills. Where you went to college doesn't make a difference after you land your first job.

check out the alumni factor. It cuts through the perceptions and gets to the exact things you are talking about.

sorry--still crap. Public schools continue to fall in the 180-200 range, further reinforcing the idea of snobbery and elitist attitudes that Talking Soccer thrives on. Who cares about the things that this website shows. I would go anyday with a UConn or URI.
