Why wouldn’t RI Surf try to be a part of the new ECNL Regional League (see thread in Mass forum)? I mean Bayside got a team in this league. This seems like a problem for Surf. If you are a RI family looking at clubs and only Bayside has boys and girls teams in the ECNL, why look elsewhere? I’m not a fan of Bayside, but strategically this was a good move for them.

In their group - Bayside now will be playing The Scorpions 3rd team, FC Stars 5th team, CFC’s 4th team and the Albany Alleycats. This league is just a way for the REAL ECNL teams to scout talent for their real Regional teams and their real National Teams.
Maybe if Bayside focused on the quality of their girls program and not chasing a league every year, people wouldn’t be laughing at them so badly. Their boys program is legit, for real. But this league chasing on the girls side is desperate and I feel bad for the players who have bought into the lies.
And just so everyone is clear, there is no promotion and no relegation for this new ECNL league. No one is guaranteed to get an ECNL team. Unfortunately, this just looks to be the final dagger that the scorpions are putting into Bayside’s girls program. Girls have been leaving East Providence for Taunton in droves over the past couple years and I’m afraid this is just going to make it worse.
Wait until the Bayside teams start losing to the Scorpions third team, then what happens??
RIP Bayside Girls Program 2024

95% of kids and their dream seeking parents should not even let the word ECNL get into their vocabulary.

This was written above by a nervous Surf dad. Players will leave surf and head to bayside or scorpions for ECNL. DPL sucks. RIP Surf girls program.

RI Surf should be able to pick up any decent Bayside players that are left there, when people see this travel schedule for at best average competition.
"ECNL Regional League – Northeast: Albany Alleycats (Albany, NY); Bayside FC (East Providence, RI); CFC North FC (Rockhill, CT); CFC Legacy (Stamford, CT); CT Rush Select (North Branford, CT); FC Copa Academy (Hillsborough, NJ); FC Stars Sky Blue (Acton, MA); Force FC (Monroe Woodbury, NY); Lehigh Valley United RUSH (Allentown, PA); Long Island Slammers (Stonybrook, NY); Manhattan SC (Manhattan, NY); Match Fit Academy Shore (Tinton Falls, NJ); Next Level SA (Pennington, NJ); NJ Crush (Pompton Lakes, NJ); New York Surf Soccer Club (Long Island, NY); PSA Monmouth (Tinton Falls, NJ); Quickstrike FC (New Windsor, NY); Scorpions South SC (Auburn, MA); Sporting Club Premier (Sparta, NJ); SUSA Blue (Central Islip, NY)"

Is Bayside going to move their E64 team to the new ECNL Regional league and stay put in Impact? Is the new league going to be stronger than Impact?

Which is fine. Every club has to start somewhere. ECRL teams are playing better competition and at a higher level than DPL. ECRL2 will play good clubs and some weak clubs but the level of competition could vary as the higher clubs like Stars, Susa etc will be sending 5th or 6th teams to ECRL2. Surf girls are better off staying where they are playing DPL until they are ready to play ECRL or ECNL for Scorpions or GA for NEFC.

OK, enough. April fools was four days ago. Please stop with the jokes.
There’s no way Bayside is going into a fifth league in five years to play bottom tier teams in a bottom bracket. Just stop.
Whichever Surf or Scorps, dad started this rumor, generated all the press releases, and got it publicized this big. Kudos to you. This is the best practical joke of all time.

That said, Surf RI would have jumped at this if offered. ECRL is a proven brand and going to give Bayside a leg up on keeping top players beyond U12. If I am Surf I go bgeging to the GA and fast, because that would be the only trump card at this point.

Go Bayside I’m routing for you! Slimy Surf enjoy DPL and keep on marketing your wins as if you have something to brag about. Surf players should jump to Bayside to be part of ECNL.

It’s time for the Surf girls to stop playing big fish in small pond act. If any of these girls are serious it’s time to move on to NEFC GA or SCORPIONS ECNL or more likely ECRL. Parents wasting $ and time playing on that DPL league. Are you afraid your kid can’t hang on a new team? Have them challenge themselves.
