    Buyer Beware

Do your research before signing any commitment letter, make sure it states who the coach will be, don't fall for the bait and switch game played by many of the clubs! Talk to the coach before signing and make sure they the same goal for your kid as you do! and remember......JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE WAS A GOOD PLAYER DOESN'T MEAN THEY ARE GOING TO BE A GOOD COACH!!!!!!!!!!!

That happened to us last season, was supposed to be a certain person coaching and then one day they were gone to another team and we were left with sub standard coaching, too late in the year to go any where else, most of the kids will not be back there this year, Its sad but a lot of the club owners only see dollar signs. Read the bios on the coaches, do your research, find out when your coach actually had a winning team. You might be surprised to find out it was 10 years ago and they still live off reputation, while newer coaches have a reputable showing year after year. Many on this site are hung up with the club in general, the club might be awesome as a whole but, how is the coach/team for the part of the club you are paying for

Also be careful of coaches that say your kid should play up! We went to a tryout and the other night and the "coach" said he would evaluate all the new players with the older age group, we were wondering why, then the parents stated he does this every year then asks or recommends the decent players play up for him and the not so good players get to play their age group! He does this because he is not a very good coach and its the only way he can stay some what competitive!

Depending on the number of players trying out, that sounds like a good idea. The kids playing above age level play up. And how is having kids play up keep him competitive? It's more likely to help the kids playing up than the older team itself.

And what is wrong with putting the best team on the field?

Actually the guy has to be a troll.
There's not one team at Bayside, Bruno, Tidal Wave or Blackwatch that does this so I say it's the troll from Mass. again.

Only because of lack of players trying out.

DT actually killed his own club by having players play up for his daughter's team. If he had assembled all of that younger talent and made younger teams, he might have a good club right now. But instead, all those kids left.

DT couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper bag! His team is below average, and might not even make Maple, although rumor is he kissed someone's *** and might be allowed in. He walked off the field in VA. Beach blamed the refs, couldn't make maple, blame injuries, losing players blame MY, anyone else see a pattern? He has not coached a competitive team in years. He gets by on the backs of a few good TW coaches that produce competitive teams,

DT is a VERY GOOD coach. He teaches the fundamentals of the game, passing, possession, etc. You obviously must have had an issue with him to say all that nonsense. My daughter plays for DT & she is a very skilled player. You should stop saying such negative things.

WOW, you are RUDE!! There are several talented players on the team, my daughter included. You have clearly never seen them play. We have one player who is phenomenal and if you actually watched the girls play you would know that. The team struggled to gel early on but really played well this spring, not losing a game in their spring season. You really shouldn't say a girl isn't talented because of the club or coach she is with, that is just mean!
