    Why?

Why does someone always have to say "Bayside got an easy draw?" I just don't get it.
Let's face it folks. It's a blind draw and you get what you get. Why try to discredit everything. Can't you just be happy that kids are attending?

My feeling on this site is that unless your are a Bayside parent , people are not getting behind any team from RI. When we went from Town soccer to club soccer 15 years ago we lost that sense of community.

Look at little league when cumberland went to the series the town and community was behind them .This will never happen in soccer .

Good luck to all the RI teams and I hope they do well so at least we know that our kids are developing and have the skills to compete.

The difference between Club Soccer and Little League is that anyone can play Little League. It is not a private organization, it is truly a community organization

The difference between Little League and Club soccer are many! Little League is the only show around! There aren't clubs to go to its its similar to Government they make the rules and you are stuck with it. Most Town little League's are as political as Town soccer! Most (not all) that run either are usually power hungry morons! My kids have played in 2 Town leagues the first few years in Pawtucket some (not all) of the most vile people I have ever had to deal with! The one lady strutted he out of shape fat ass around the complex like she was a freaken royalty. Heard she was removed from the throne a while back! The second my current Town much better but still political when it comes to who is coaching what team! . After a short time we left there and began with the clubs soccer, no politics and the owner did fix problems (coaching problems) so he wouldn't lose the revenue. With club soccer if you and the other parents don't like the way your team or club is being run you can go to another one! That is why there are so many stories of full teams leaving certain clubs every tryout season! Premier soccer has been watered down over the years, certain clubs will take just about anyone that can run if the parents are willing to fork over the money

I believe you 100%.... any sport association can be very political .To my earlier point is that since you can leave club soccer at any time and things that you mention like water down, revenue issues etc . The make up of club soccer is not about community but about individuality . I am not saying this is a bad thing just that you will never see people other than parents from those teams at regional care about who represents RI. Doesn't matter if it is Bruno, Bayside, Blackwatch or any other club.

I see more articles about town players with names and stats on weekly basis in my local free paper than any club team in RI.

It sad becuase soccer is such great sport and we are more concern about teams failing than succeeding

Sometimes it is true, but typically is because of jealousy and they are striking back. Their kids team probably got beat by the Bayside team. (mine did) It is totally natural to feel that way. These people that say they want any kid from RI to win are full of it (kum-ba-ya)- They are just lying. As the parent of a soccer player, are you happy for the other team when they beat your kids team? of course not. While I appreciate the talents of all the players and try not to make excuses for my kids team, I don't want your kids team beating my kids team. I can accept it, but I don;t like it.

I'm pretty sure that I would like the Bayside folks much more if they didn't win the state cup:)

How bout the possibility that maybe it's not jealousy!

Maybe people who know the U15 age group were sick of hearing the Bayside U15 team claim they were one of the top teams in the region after making the semifinals last year.

Bayside doesn't even have the fourth best U15 team in New England. They got a good draw last year, then got wiped out in the semifinal. This year, they got another good draw. I don't want to hear that the team is one of the best teams around again! They didn't prove it at any events or in league play this season.

I will disagree that they are not the only show around. AAU Baseball is big in MA/RI and competes with Little League, there are clubs to go to.

I have only seen the Bayside U15's play once, but looking at their history, they look pretty good. Instead of wanting them to get crushed at the regional's try thinking about it this way; If they do well and your team played them tough then that makes your team higher in the regional scale too. If it makes you feel any better, there is one team in their pool that will probably beat them handily.

The one thing that I have seen is that Bayside teams seem to be coached better than their competition. I have seen more talented teams get beat by the better coached teams.
