Many of the best new high school players in the state are coming up through the Bayside program - which is very much team focused, they lack individual skill and creativity.

If you look at the players from NK who are scoring in D1 - they are not part of the Bayside club and dominate on their athleticism and individual 1v1 skills.

One more reason to hate on Bayside.
Ok, so Tidalwave does a better job? haha

It appears that way! BTW the NK leading scorer from TW went down a year and it looks like Bayside will not be going to regionals this year as a result!

A strange argument. Is the NK troll at work again?

Listen, I am no BS lover, but this is the dumbest argument I have ever read.

HS soccer = mostly very bad, gym teacher, coaches. Don't emphasize basic skills. Kids don't have basic skills. The lack of tactical awareness on my daughter's HS team is shocking. Most of these kids are playing soccer to get fit for basketball or hockey or whatever. Most teams I have watched (and I have seen every D1 girl's team play this year) with a few exceptions. can't complete more than two consecutive passes. You may not like BS style, I don't care much for it myself, but that isn't the problem. Beyond that, give it a year or so and this class will move on and it will be better, it has a lot to do with the skill set of the older girls too.

theres a player at pilgrim who has made a career out of crushing the TW team of which you speak. This player will lead Pilgrim over EWG tomorrow.

Yes next years U17. The stud on NK has been playing a couple years up. Next year playing U17 instead of 18. Pilgrim kid not even close to this regional player!

That's a laugh! Speaking of next year U17. And she certainly wasn't the player who did the damage against the other TW team.

NK kid is good, that is true, but that rising BS u17 is an awfully good team, just saying.

For what it is worth, that Pilgrim team will be very good in another year or two, the sophomore and freshman classes are excellent

That's the point he's trying make - the top talent in state has been predominately at Bayside where they learn to play a certain quick pass style. In high school, these Bayside kids are on their own and playing with a bunch of hackers with no touch or passing skills, without the supporting cast they can't play on their own since the Bayside style crushes these individual players carrying skills and playmaking creativity.

This is an excellent point. Many of the premier kids can't do very much unless they surrounded by five or six talented players. Not just Bayside though. Most premier coaches yell 'get rid of it' or 'too much dribbling' constantly. Very few coaches encourage the players to take more touches. High school coaches are an easy target but some are better for your kids than the 'too many touches' premier coaches. At least your kids may get some freedom to play in high school.
