We had a goalie, defense, and several other premier players....although not the almighty ECNL players everyone on TS is so beholden to. They play high level at Bayside, Bruno, etc. No one is invincible....the 1st loss in many years is certain to happen sooner rather than later....in fact it probably should have happened last year when the girls were down 4-1 in the 2nd half before some strange implosion happened to Feehan. The point was only to say that a team is the sum of many parts and 2 kids can't do it all by themselves no matter how hard they try.....and btw, LSA was a winning program before the M's arrived, and will likely continue to be successful. Good Luck to everyone...have a great season!
Like I said - a decent team with a couple good players, pretty much the same as EG, NK, Smithfield. They could finish first or 6th and it wouldn't surprise me. I think there is a lot of parity in the top 6-7 teams especially when they will only play each other once this season, look to see a lot of draws.

BTW, you do have two ECNL players on your LaSalle roster - not sure how close you really are to the team if not aware of this though.

Lots of injuries and a new goalie explains that score.

Once they get healthy and the goalie settles in they can play with anyone.
I'm sure the Smithfield "A" team was at Mansfield last night. How did they do?

From what I heard they are still playing a lot of JV/Swing players.

They are pretty banged up which doesn't look good for them with the season starting.

May be a long year for them if they don't get healthy fast.

Thats waht the coach is saying in the girls soccer preview publishe din the projo this morning--injuries may haunt the Sentinels at the beginning of the season. Also, perhaps an oversight on the 5 players to watch. No mention of the potential top scoring girls soccer player of the 2012 season--EM from South Kingstown. I would not want to be chosing the 5 players out of over a thousand players in RI, but EM is definitely one to watch.

Just look at the small few that play on MA teams -- 4 of the 5 listed play ECNL in MA unlike most of the other 1000 RI players.

FALSE--the one plays for mighty Bruno. And I'm not Bruno dad....

Not sure how you would know this since there is no roster for LSA yet on RIIL's site...and I am very close to it, my daughter has started for the past 3 yrs. Don't know all the new young players yet...

The 2 ECNL players for LSA are both sophmores and 1 is hurt and out for the season.

Just want to make sure I got this straight: you're real close, but don't have any idea where some of your stronger players play club, nevermind where the competition's talent plays but you still feel confident that LaSalle will once again dominate D1 as they always have?

This is what makes TS awesome. You might be in for a little wake up this year.

I'm gonna give you a pass though as the two ECNL players you have play on a team that would barely win the SupreLiga title in RI.

                      go LADY RAMS

How about Smithfield's 2 ECNL players?

As I said, I don't know all the new young players (who have actually made an impact with the team). Just because they play ECNL, doesn't necessarily translate to impact on field.
I was the poster who was responding to the know-it-all who thinks LSA is a non-contender this year since the M's left. Perhaps the know-it-all is the Projo writer who seems to think that way: ECNL must be the only place where important soccer is played because it is ELITE, right!! I disagree, and that's the beauty of TS, we are all free to have our own opinion and point out the idiocy of others'...

well then let's make some predictions, and these arent meant to imply that just because the ECNL players are on the teams that I predict will win tomorrow that the ECNL is where all the best RI players are playing, becuase I agree that ECNL is mostly marketing. So here is what I think for tomorrow's gmaes between the D1 and D2 "top 2":

                              Smithfield 6 Lincoln 0
                              LaSalle 7 EWG 1

                              See you tomomrrow!

Just stop soccer mom - the "younger" players played varsity last year and both got decent time playing, including the one who is injured this year who had a significant role in winning the championship.

First you dis the accomplishments of the MM twins and now act like these freshman were not key pieces of your team last year.

Please stop and just accept that LaSalle is not and will never be the team theyhave been for the last four years - doesn't mean they wont win again but they will never be as dominant as they were when the twins were there.

As far as ECNL, the league is marketing but the 2 ECNL players that play for Smithfield are elite players as is the one fron NK.
