Scoring in D3 is not like in D2 or D1. She is a talented player but it will be more difficult to score in the upper divisions. Pilgrim has one of the pure striker in D2 but let's see if the coach is smart enough to take advantage of her talents.

The two you speak of both play on same club - they're pretty even with each other and should score 15 goals this season.

I like Pilgrim but Burrillville is not likely. They can't even win D3. My picks are EWG, Pilgrim, and MSC. Classical is the dark horse. They have one of the best player in RI.

the player from Classical plays club in MA. So do most of the top players in the schools that met in the D1 champsionship game last season. I think also the player from Burillville does to?

EWG will win again, but it won't be as easy as last year. A big piece of the puzzle graduated

Pilgrim has been strong for a while, though I mostly saw kick and chase last season.

Tiverton just always seems competitive, although relatively new to DII, they had done very well in DIII for long time.

Narragansett did great in DIII, I'm guessing that they will move right in near the top.

MSC has been solid,but like Lincoln does not have the fire power to get to the top

Lincoln has been a pretty good team for the last few years but has lost their best player and their excellent coach has been replaced by a no-nothing nice guy teacher.

Burrillville and Classical have at least one good player but lack the supporting cast for too much success.

All the rest could go any way - Westerly could move up some (7-8) - Johnston will definitely be at the bottom.

Not anymore. The top players in RI will be staying home in the next couple years. Mass was a waste of time and empty promises. Other then ecnl, the rest is no better than what we have here in RI.

I am not looking forward to High School soccer at all. Kick and run is not my cup of tea. Except for maybe 1 or 2 teams, the rest will be bombing from the back up to the forward. Worse is I like any good parents will have to suffer thru the season because we are obly there to support our kids regardless how disappointed we are at the high school game.

I think it's just awful that you have to sit through another soccer high school season(or should I say "football" to appeal to your obvious 'Soccer VIP' status?) and watch your child play. Maybe you and the other 'good' parents can get together and discuss how bad the players and the coaches are. That's probably more your cup of tea.

I agree with you, I will be there to support my child and team win or lose, high school soccer some is good some maybe not so much, but these are memories that they will have and experience. I will always be there to support my child and any of her teams. After they leave high school for most their team sports and to watch her play are over, I for one do not want to miss it.

I prefer a little more possession too but I still enjoy the HS season. It's fun watching kids that only play a little soccer but are talented athletes. They tend to be a little more aggressive and lack the nuance maneuvers but overall they do pretty darn good.

It's futbol. By the way it is not the players that I don't enjoy watching but bad coaches who nothing about the game. I not all coaches are bad but I can honestly say a majority of them.

My daughters coach doesn't know the first thing about soccer (well very little). 80% of the girls on her team know more than he does. As long as he doesn't totally screw up positioning then they will do ok. I must admit that having real soccer coaches would be better especially when some of the players could use some direction.

Anyone that believes in the myth that the ECNL is somehow a superior league needs to have there head examined. The ECNL just takes your money and lets you sit the bench while other girls play the games. If you are from RI and are thinking about the ECNL, tell your parents that they would be fools to pay that kind of money so soomeone else can play soccer. ANyone from RI is best off to say right here in RI with one of the local clubs that have more to offer than any ECNL "waste of time and money " club.

This is a strange post. In know some of the RI ECNL families, and there isn't many, and they are all very happy with the ECNL program. I have only seen a couple of ECNL games and the level of play was very high. This post seems to come from a coach that is losing his best players to ECNL teams.

High School soccer is all about fun and has absolutely no bearing on the kid playing soccer in the future. Although having a good coach will make a team better, it won't make a bad team a good team.
