Premier is not premier any more.any kid with average skill is considered or can get on a premier team.most teams boys or girls in RI have 2 to 3 players that carry the team.all others are just paying for the ride.

This is somewhat true. It's the result of town programs doing a poor job of training and fielding decent competitive teams. Parents are looking elsewhere for a more committed program for their kids. The result is the growth of the number of premier clubs.

But, as the players get older, they gravitate toward the stronger teams anyway. That's why especially on the boys side Bayside has the top teams in virtually every age group. Bayside pretty much has every top boys player age U14 and up. The lower-level premier teams are simply a replacement for the town competitive teams of 5-10 years ago.

For what it's worth, it's no different in Mass.

Classic - I'm a democrat and that was funny.

One more reason why high school sports will become irrelevant within the next 5-10 years. How much longer will parents put up with knuckleheads coaching their kids when they spend all kinds of money for the kid to get the best coaching available in premier softball, soccer, baseball, hockey, gymnastics, swimming, etc.

The only sport that doesn't fit into the formula is football which they'll kill anyway because of head injury liability.

Really - the only one I know of is the SD from East Greenwich. Oh of course, there's the beaut from Toll Gate - she's top notch.

I know there is more than one out there, there is a very good one in d2. But you are close there really is only 4 - 5 very good, 20 that are ok or a little better then the remaining 22 or 23 coaches. That makes up your 47 girls high school coaches.
