    Defense. Enough Said.

As i've always said, its defense. :

AS read simply: "Adiós Barcelona". It continued: "An ultra-defensive Chelsea eliminated Barcelona to reach the final in Munich. The English team played with 10 men for 52 minutes. Fernando Torres made it 2-2 on the night. Messi missed a penalty and struck the post."

There goes the beautiful game. The rest of the world now learn to how defend against Barca. Put 10 men in the box and let them pass all day long.

Had barca done more overlapping runs, they would have won.

Sounds like what the rest of the state is going to do to Bayside to knock them off! You cant beat them defend them!

Portsmouth is no Chelsea. They do have some strong defenders but then again, at this age, its tough to identify any little Messi's!!

Again, until FIFA determines that outcomes of matches are decided by anything other than goals, stop faulting a lesser skilled team when it avoids playing into the strength of the better skilled team.

But even "packing the box" as shown by Chelsea-Barcelona matches are very ineffective the higher up you go -- Chelsea played about as well defensively with 10 men and even then gave up chances (one being you have offensive players marking back who aren't used to that) that Barca should have capitalized on to win 3 or 4 to 1. In the first match, packing it in forced Messi out more where he gave up a costly turnover.

Are there any threads safe from gloating Bayside parents?

There are a couple little Messi's in RI who are between 10-12 years old. I have seen a few of them, some play Premier and some I am not sure where they play.

What I am sure is if they continue to develope they will be very good in 2-3 more years.

I am a professional coach and have been for 18 years. You idiots don't understand a thing about soccer. Winning is not important. Scoring is not important. In fact, soccer is not even a sport - it's an art form.

So true.........they live off a few with natural talent then take the credit. I moved here a few years ago and got hooked up with a local premier team, it was like watching an overpriced kickball game.
