I agree that his coaching style may not be for everybody but his results and accomplishment are fact. He has coached many kids that have gone on to become great college players and even a few professionals, whether it was Bayside United, PCD, or his soccer school. Almost too many great players have been coached and developed by him to list, including a current and previous player for the US National Team. So much emphasis is being put on which local club is better, which is understandable, but Stacey actually coached them.

If you have found a club that you like, than I think it's great. But if you spend your time trolling soccer forums about YOUTH soccer teams, than that would suggest to me that you have some personal issue, and I thank god that you are not one of the parents on the sideline with me, now that my child is playing and thriving with Bayside United.

Everyone is free to have there own opinion, but try to remember that this is YOUTH soccer we are talking about, and personal attacks from parents, or calling out the performance of a bunch of preteens, is an example of the worst that soccer has to offer and keeps many parents away.

And finally, one last thing to consider. If you like the club that you have found for your child, before posting all of your negativity on this site, take a good look because many of the coaches that you may like on other clubs were actually trained by Stacey himself, and not just for one season, but for many years. His accomplishments are well documented, just do some research and avoid the forum trolls.

Angry parents trying to fulfill some personal dream through there children has always been the ugly side of youth sports. Just let them have fun, and enjoy whatever team you happen to play for.

You are correct, he knows the sport and can teach great foot skills and tactics. Unfortunately, you need some sort of business and personal ethics to run a club. He has no sense of how to handle kids, especially if they are not the highest skill level when he gets them.

A major of people getting sick of his club is his sidekick Suzette, who is a major league jerk and ticks people off left and right.

All good kids at this club, girls and boys. Never had anything bad to say about them or their skills, just the 2 running it have no sense.

Your opinion is fine. I have dealt with Suzette and I think she does a great job, especially considering how many parents she must communicate with. But you can have your opinion and I can have mine.

I just don't understand what it is about us soccer parents that makes us feel like we are so entitled to perfection that if we don't get it we can anonymously post personal attacks at people on forums etc. If you were paying for your child to take music lessons, and the teacher failed to make them the next Beethoven would you show up to the school stomping your feet and screaming at everyone?

If you found another club that you are happy with, maybe its time to move on. I personally am happy with Bayside United and think that my kid specifically responds very well to his style of coaching and wouldn't want to go anywhere else. What you see is what you get, an old school coach who is passionate about the game.

Whether its anonymous forums or twitter etc. It seems only the negative people post, I guess the positive, supportive parents are all too busy spending time with there kids. Have a good day, its only soccer.

Ahh, there's where you are wrong. Most of the bashing going on in this forum is done by coaches and club administrators trying to get people thinking that where they are is bad and that their club is where you should be. It's all part of a very calculated marketing plan. One only needs to look at the MA forum to see it in its glorious form. Activity on the RI page heats up as try outs approach. Go here! No come here! Stay away from X,Y,Z! This club is the best! That club is the worst!!! This coach is the bomb! That coach sucks! Most people on this forum can see through all of that and look for very tiny bits of info that are actually useful, like how much something costs, where teams go for tournaments, how much training teams do, a particular coach's coaching style, etc, etc, etc ....... Surprisingly, the bashing works done times. I've seen perfectly fine teams ripped apart because parents came on here and believed all the garbage that was written. Anonymity can be very confusing. One tends to give credibility to anonymous people that would never be given a second thought if their identity were known.

Better idea.... Before you narrow your tryout option do some research as to where the teams play(league) and what division. Also evaluate your child's talent and see which team best fit their skill set. Be honest... If your child is not cut out for the top division then settle for the lower division team. If he or she is a soccer player they will work themselves up to the top team. And if RI teams are not suitable then look for teams in MA. Just a thought.

Doesn't matter where you end up as long as your child is being well coached, plays with similarly skilled players and competes at a level that challenges them but is not overwhelming. Unless your kid is good enough for DAP or Stars ECNL, and most are not, there is no need to go to MA. Of course you can if that is what you crave, but not necessary. Oh, and you may be wondering,"how do I know if my kid is good enough for DAP or ECNL?". Well, if they were you would know. They would already have bedbugs identified and you would be contacted. I hardly doubt that a DAP team or a Stars ECNL teàm ever gets a walk-on that just shows up out of nowhere at tryouts.

Bayside United is insignificant. A complete non-factor in RI youth soccer. This thread is worthless.

Talented players are the ones that draw other players to the club. Every clubs have a handful of those. If your club does not have one you are in trouble. Just look at Bayside United. No highly prized players wanted to play for that crappy club and look where their are now.

Man I hate these idiotic type posts. Enough with the club bashing, its so freaking childish I can't take it. If this thread is worthless to you, then ignore it. Its not rocket science. If you don't like a club, don't go there. If you don't like the club you're at, leave it. My kids don't even play premier in RI, but every single club everywhere is meeting the needs of SOMEONE playing there. Why do people have such a hard time understanding this?

I live in RI and all the RI premier clubs play in MA, so there is massive cross pollination between all of the New England states, therefore I will read and engage in threads from many state forums that interest me. If you want to sit here in the Bayside thread waiting top hop on the 3 posts a day, but I will go and post anywhere I please, thank you.
