If anyone from Bayside U reads these posts, the club needs to inform it's members of what it's plans are, SOON, so it's players can begin to make plans if they are folding. The lack of information flow and plain decency from SM and SD are infuriating.

I'm not a BU fan, in fact I think they are a joke. However, from a business perspective, they do not need to be a corporation (profit or non profit) in good standing with the Sec of State's office to do business. All it means is that they lose their Corporate status and all the benefits that go along with that. If their were a lawsuit filed against them from an incident that occurred after they were in good standing, SD could be sued personally. As far as insurance goes, if they have insurance they have insurance regardless of status and any kid that is registered thru Got Soccet is covered by SRI insurance, again, regardless of Corporate status.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment

the season Fall/Spring. if your a girl there is a talented program in Fall River; NEFC. Theres also BSFC or Explosion. These are all competetive programs playing in the top divsions and tournaments.Comment

While that is technically correct, being an unincorporated non-profit brings some extra scrutiny in addition to the much higher liability risk. And while yes, you can insure against that, the rates are going to be much higher than if you were incorporated (one of the whole points of incorporating!). That is why non-incorporated non-profits are generally your small, low volume, very specific purpose groups of individuals...generally not your soccer club (and SRI requires at least 4 teams to get membership).Originally posted by Unregistered View Post

None of what you say really means much. Again, I think they are a joke, but none of this really matters to anyone but the owner. Doesn't affect anything whatsoever except for issues pertaining to the owner. Actually, if he has assets that are valuable his insurance will be cheaper than if he was incorporated because he assumes a portion of the liability. Most people on here know something about soccer but very little about business.Comment

No they didn't. if you are going to post, get your facts straight. The u11 team is playing in the U12 Premiere division indoors and the U12 team is playing in the U14B division and did pretty well. They would destroy all the teams in the U12 Premiere division and are playing up an age for the indoor sessions, just like every other team does for indoor.Originally posted by Unregistered View Post

Are you kidding? Destroy U12 teams? If they are so fabulous, than why do they lose every tournament they are in against town teams? Yeah, they just lost the Christmas tournament to town teams.
