Great players do not make great coaches. Never a more truthful statement!!! Unfortunately not all clubs see this.

A strange statement. I don't think that anyone believes that a coach actually gets better because he has great players on his team. But of course, if winning is a measure of a coaches ability, he will look a lot better if he has great players, whether he is a great coach or not. And of course clubs see this, and they don't care. Or at east not much. Clubs sell spots more easily if they have great players and have winning records. And there is nothing wrong with that.
