    Lincoln is HORRIBLE !!!
I would put it like this:

    South County
    Smithfield
    Portsmouth
    Cumberland
    WFF
    Bristol
    Ocean State
    Pawt
    WSA
    Everybody else

Talking total Club....boys, girls, coaches, refs, facilities

I'd add parents to the list of criteria, but then everyone would end up last

SRI should develop a neutral scorecard for each association to fill out and post..something simple..

Programs offered (Rec/travel/ref/camp, etc.) and season

      Cost of programs

      Facilities used (public or private)

Numbers of teams by gender/age group

      DOCs and qualification

% of rec coaches with basic license

% of travel coaches with E and D licenses

General breakout by towns of players

Process for selecting Rec / Travel teams

Even if they leave it up to the town association to publish, it would be helpful for SRI to aggregate to track and judge the health of associations..
just check number of players leaving or not returning to an organization

I don't understand why Portsmouth and Barrington are ranked low.. aren't they strong programs?

I agree that Pawtucket is an elite program but with all the problems they been having, I don't know...

Smithfield,South County, CLCF also should be mentioned..

what's the deal with all of you ranking WFF so high, not impressed at all..

Dumbest thread ever - if your kid is playing town soccer, you shouldn't be wasting your time here. If you're dropping a couple grand for your kid to play premiere soccer, I can understand the interest in spending time and energy on TS ripping other teams, questioning coaching ability, forecasting tournament finishes, ranking players, etc.

But seriously, you town folk don't have enough invested to be on here debating the best town team in RI. Kind of like who's the tallest midget.

Who's the last town team to win a State Cup anyway?

Get your kid to one of the elite clubs (Tidal Wave, Bayside United) and learn how to live.

I would have more respect for PAwtucket if they put their teams in top divisions. They sand bag and put them all in B&C divisions and then they win thre league, then instead of challenging the kids, they leave them in the same bracket. I have seen this all across the board. Tiverton is another town organization that does the same thing.

bingo..plus Barrington..see other thread about having 9 teams in U12 last year between boys and girls and only 1 in anchor..and even in their own tournament.

I saw a Pawtucket "Rhody" team play in a U12 tournament game..easily were capable of competing in Gold level based on size, speed, and overall play..

Again OD cares more about quantity than quality...which I frankly would not care about IF the anchor level was an open, no roster restriction division and Rhody was restricted to clubs that did not offer a spring recreational program..

OD does not tell towns where to place their teams, you are clueless.

I agree, OD doesn't control it. you have to look at how many teams the town has in Anchor.

I think each Town should put one team for each age group in Anchor and go from there...

That is correct but you have to do what is right for the kids and not worry about whether you will win Rhody division. Challenge them!! Pawtucket is a city with some really good talent and most of the teams are not even in Anchor. Let's be real!!

OD should have a say based on records of the previous year or fall. I am pretty sure he does that now.

It's a business for him. I don't think they are volunteering for that. Wife is the President and I beleive runs the league.

Guys..OD and his wife run the league..to the point they don't *control* where clubs put their teams is because they *choose* NOT to do so by having minimal rules (other than the premier player rule to payback the premier clubs and keep the nice "you have yours and I have mine" quid pro quo among the SRI board. There are only minimal rules like 4 teams then must be 1 in anchor -- although that is clearly waiverable as Barrington demonstrated.

It's a *for profit* league..not something run by SRI on behalf of its members, although SRI basically makes it difficult to form another league. Superliga *could* clearly establish higher standards to prevent sandbagging and promote better development. I'm not saying it has to be MASC like in terms of wanting all ".500" records in groupings..but in the tradeoff of quantity ($$) versus quality, SL opts for quantity.

And again..that would be fine **IF** SRI made forming other leagues a viable option..as it is, the guy who runs a **FOR PROFIT* company (okay, his spouse does..what's the difference?) is allowed to be on the board making decisions that directly affect his company..

It's going to take some town clubs with real leaders to start opting out of SL and just running an inter-club spring tournament..so you can't be in RI Cup..make your own up..you can put your best teams in anchor so they can win the anchor RI Cup..you think parents of Rhody teams really care if they are playing each other as part of SL or some other name?
