    Living in a fantasy world

Confidence that will serve them well in the real world as they grow as opposed to the fantasy land of "my dauughter is the next Mia Hamm" that you and alot of your fellow nuts live in. That coach gets this and it is clear you don't. Did you ever think that the girl you refer to is a product of coaching development? Of course not ! You look at what's going on during the game scratching your ass and thinking my daughter is better than "that girl". Right? See....you are a fool. As for Bayside, the girls will see them again.
I have no doubt this girls ability is a product of 'coaching development', the question is what coach developed her? There is no way the Lusitana coach has taught her anything.

I don't know if she played for another team before, or if she is just extremely talented & attended some skills training but I am pretty sure if that coach developed her, he would have a whole team of girls who can play.

The truth is he doesn't! It doesn't matter if you are U13 or U15, eventually that club will fold because this girl's back is going to get very sore.

You obviously haven't watched that team much to make those comments. You were dazzled by her goal scoring (Tidal Wave game maybe-she had a great game) and forgot that the rest of the team, including a strong defense and skilled goalies, that have contributed to a team that has done pretty well for itself. She IS a very good player but that team also plays as a TEAM... a concept Bayside is clueless about. Most of those girls, including her, have been playing together since U8.

And the whole club is riding on her back? Did you put vodka in your coffee?

If that team is so good what were they doing as a U13 premier team in an indoor U14B division? That is two divisions lower than the premier division. We all know the answer, get some wins, to make the parents happy. Now you are playing with the big boys and will struggle. Explain that placement and you still didn't win the B division.

Definately placed in the wrong division. Dominated all session. Games were boring for the most part.

They were actually undefeated at the end of the session and then lost to a team they had already defeated. Eh-it happens...especially in a 25 minute game.

It's nice of you predict their fate for this session.

You are right. Lusitana and Bayside are like apples and oranges. Bayside parents pay 3x as more so they should be getting more practice time and don't forget to pay those fabulous coaches. Lusitana is a smaller, less expensive, family-oriented club. Their coaches are not paid so go ahead and make fun of that coach that does it beacuae he/she enjoys it and loves soccer vs the paid coach who is more worried about his resume. To each his own but don't get all pissy when Lusitana gives you a run for your money.

True, Bayside is all loudmouthed when playing clubs smaller and winning. Then when they go to regionals and get blown out (happens every year to the girls) and their NEP records are hideous....radio silence. And before you say it "Yes, we all know you were "playing up", so were most of the MA teams that blew you out. Good news, most of the decent MA clubs took their teams back to MAPLE for the Spring, so maybe you can win more than 1-2 NEP games! I hope that makes you feel like you got more for your money.

I actually watched this team in the 1st WWIS session & I saw the first half of the TW game. She had some great goals in first session and several in the TW game, although in the TW game their keeper was small & looked inexperienced in the net.

Thing is I know this girl played for another club before Lusitana, because she played against my daughter. I know who trained her up & I am pretty sure some Lusitana parents would be eating crow if I outed them, it certainly was not the Lusitana coach.

Lets just say the previous poster was right, this coach inherited an already trained up player & he should be thanking his lucky stars to have her. I wonder how long it will be before she realizes that she is stuck in a dead end.

Ok while we are on the topic, the inherited girl as you put it is in her third year with Lusitana and as for coaching and since you were at the Tidal Wave game let's talk about coaching. What TEAM passed the ball between its players and what TEAM kicked the ball down field? What TEAM out hustled and played harder than the other older team? And why didn't that 'great coaching staff' on the other side make adjustments to close the middle of the field? The answer could be that one half of the coaching staff consists of the McCourt coach and talk about not knowing anything about soccer.....wow.

So keep on hating. The u-13 girls TEAM (a concept lost on you) will roll thorough Tidal Wave, Blackwatch and South County and play Bayside in the State Cup finals. Will they win? Who knows, but they will have the opportunity.

                  Thought for the day

Reading through this thread has been very amusing.

If the TW u14 team has the "best player in the state" Why isn't that team winning any games...even in MASC if it's that easy to ride on the back of one player?

Because it's a riculous concept that one player could do that and that TW has a player like that in the first place unless they picked up a player from somewhere else over the last few months. I saw that team in the fall. Not that good.

All I want to know is how do those Lusitana parents survive watching the games from the mud.

Bayside parents jealous of Lusitana, that is very funny. Are they also jealous of the North Smithfield U13 girls.

Since you asked the TW team actually passed better. Lusitana either booted the ball up the field or the one player dribbled up & shot, no teamwork at all.

I do not know what adjustments were made at the half, but the final score, according to the WWIS site was 5-1, so they must have done something to shut down the middle.

The McCourt coach means nothing to me, what is McCourt? It sounds like a personal dig because the TW coaches and parents have always been very respectful when playing us, no matter what the age group. The Lusitana coaches and parents are just loud and obnoxious.

Stop hating on the other teams: Bayside, TW (can't believe I am defending them), Blackwatch and any others. You just sound JEALOUS!!!

I know what adjustments were made. Lusitana had mercy, switched some positions and called off the dogs. Adjustments called sportsmanship. Many of the girls go to school together and the coach was not going to run them up any more. I guess you could call that shutting down the middle....

Somehow I doubt that, too bad the isn't a TW parent around to speak the truth. I have a feeling that they made some adjustments, you just can't seem to give anyone any credit. Must be nice to be so perfect. I am sure you think your daughter is the best around, right? Come on, admit it, you do!!!

WWIS should be fun today!! Can't wait to see the Rams give you a smackdown, as for us we will have a good game against a respectable club & maybe I will ask the TW parents about the 2nd half last week & let the truth be told.

So you are blaming the TW 1/2 half goalie?? Nice : )

Not much of a smackdown. Lusitana won 1-0 and dominated the field.

It seems to me that the TW crowd was bashing our coach so we were defending him. That's not jealousy---just loyalty. Why would we be jealous of a team we are better than?
