Soft ground cleats?

With all of the rain lately, many of the fields are getting really soft and slippery.

Does anyone here use soft ground cleats? Are they permitted for youth play in Rhode Island -- like SuperLiga, middle school or high school?

Actually, my high school age kids answered the question for me -- refs never check their cleats before games, and their teammates joke that even if they were using razor blades for studs, no one would notice!
