    Whose gonna win d1 central

just wondering who you folks thinks gonna sweep d1 central? so far my bets on Cranston West
they had a great game against Lasalle & they should have tied but thanks to a stupid call by the referee & 1 other goal, they were defeated. (6-3)

Portsmouth, only 10 GA, played one less game than CW and tied in pts with CW

As a D1 South parent - I think Portsmouth is the strongest team out of Central we've seen - they also have 3 games in hand vs. Cranston West.

I think the real battle will be between CW, Barrington, Prout, and Coventry for the last couple playoff spots.

Doesn't really matter. D1 Central is very weak. Top 4 teams will come from South and North.

If anyone out there thinks Portsmouth or Cranton West is going to finish any higher than 5th or 6th place in D1, then you are living in a dream world.

It looks to me that what ever team wins in the next head to head match-up wins the division. If there is a tie then Portsmouth will win. For CW, anything less than a win when they play Portsmouth will mean 2nd place in their division. I have made some assumptions about wins and losses but I think I'm right.

While you are probably right, but is has happened where the underdog team wins the whole thing. CW is the biggest underdog so I'm rooting for them. Go CW!!!

The refs fault in a 6-3 loss? Too funny! Was it the refs fault MM ran wild for 6 goals? Portsmouth getting healthy, no contest next time! That said, Lasalle seems like they are more vulnerable this year and can be had in the playoffs, I can't remember them giving up as many goals as they have this year, and was shocked to see West scored three times on them. Portsmouth shut them out by the way. That's what is going to make these playoffs fun! Also Lasalle going to be back to ordinary when the MM twins are gone.

Boy, Portsmouth must be an unhealth place to live. I have seen several posts in the past month about their health being to reason for all their losses. I guess they were sick at the beginning of the year when they lost at home to Prout, or two weeks latter when they lost at home to EG, or the week after when they lost to Smithfield, and even this week when they lost to S. Kingstown. I assume the entire team will have the flu when they get smashed by LaSalle this weekend, or when they lose to N. Kingstown and/or Cumberland next week. I hope they get healthy soon, they are running out of weeks.

you are very right both twins are very very talented, & west worked hard for those 3 goals, they are well deserved , but it is true that the 6th one was the refs fault playoffs will be very fun to watch!

I thought the funniest part of this post was was the 1 bad call and 1 goal. Somehow 6-2 = 3.

I have to admit that this year seems worse than other years as far as the reffing goes, or maybe I just blocked it out. I don't think any games I have watched were dramatically affected by the Ref's but there sure are a lot of missed calls out there. We had the typical 60 something ref the other day, he was in pretty good shape, but there was no way he could keep up. He was calling fouls and off-sides that he was at least 75 yards away from. He was at the other end of the field and on the other side. He actually got a few of those right!

I am not going to harp on the Refs because I do not want to Ref myself and I probably wouldn't be very good at it. Because of the 2 Ref system during the regular season there is just going to be mistakes. Hopefully none will be bad enough to change the outcome of a game.
