Well well well. I have never been on this ridiculous site til yesterday.... That said...what a irritating bunch of posts. Us as parents place our kids in whichever sport they excell in or enjoy simply to enhance their lives...thats our job as parents!! To read all this BS and bashing is just soooo disheartening and discouraging. Whatever club..town or premier we chose as parents is a personal choice for our kids pleasure and learning experience. Which coach, what price...blah blah is all understood when we sign up!!
Whether coaching changes, price changes or whatever...just deal and get over it! How's this for thought?!?! Who says each one of our kids will make the cut at each tryout?? Maybe that's why other parents take their kids to multiple tryouts! No one is safe each year and each child should have to prove themselves each year! Its called having options and ensuring the player has a place to play in fall.. Evaluate your thought and actions and how you say things people. This site is disgusting. And it is a bash and run site for those of you who are too cowardly to be an adult... Which is why I'll sign my name!! Jess Libby

How about just having a parents meeting if you are having issues?

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostAwful, in an earlier comment saying that "who says our kids will make the cut each tryout?" and "no one is safe each year". I agree that it may be reality that cuts happen to returning players. If they happen, that is a personal conversation between child, coach & parent AND a very delicate one at this age. For someone who came on this website to bash others for useless commentary, that was certainly amongst the most hurtful to the children (even if it was signed). No girl needs to hear before a tryout that "not everyone makes the cut", they all deserve to go in with confidence and think they have a shot. It will enable them to play at their highest level. So, Jess Libby, I think YOU should evaluate what you just put forward on a public site to kids that could be reading it, and maybe even apologize. While the earlier posts were irritating (I agree, they were), they were directed at adults. You took a direct shot at 12-13 year old girls, if they don't make the team, let them deal with it when it happens. Also, let them hear it from their parents/coach not a soccer mom on a website. I think only now, this site has sunk to an all new low.

Which may it may not happen, its called not putting all your eggs in one basket. Not saying kid should give up and have no confidence. And she said it because people are having a problem with kids doing that. and people are saying things about them. I've heard it myself so don't turn it into something it isn't. And get over yourself, cause that comment wasn't ignorant or directed to anyone specific. Nice try though trying to make it sound that way though.

Is this the adults talking or the children? She said this, because he said that. Really? Is this how the parents conduct themselves? Hold yourself to a higher standard, so that your children do.

Again, not saying that I don't agree 100% with the concept, but you are airing your team's dirty laundry to the public and the kids can see it. What an adult means, and what a childs perception of a comment can often be two different things. I never said it was directed towards anyone specific. Before ANY of you write again, think that your children may be reading it, and your childrens teammates. If you as adults want to have this conversation, this is not the forum. Look at your above comment

Someone please give the parents of the "trophy generation" a reality check! If you don't want your children to be traumatized or have sleepless nights or have to go see the local shrink then keep YOUR kids off this site. Better yet, why don't you follow them all the way to college with your first aid kit, your box of kleenex, ordering up the false accolades that these kids not only feel entitled to today, but demand. Let's make sure they never have to experience any disappointment whatsoever. This is the type of coddling that is exactly wrong with parenting today. Sorry if little Joey or Mia feels a little "pressure" before the big tryout, maybe, just maybe, it will be good for them! Maybe it will bring out the best in them.

It has nothing to do with trophy generation or the like. There will be a time that my kid will not make a team, maybe even yours won't. It is part of life, my kid has and will in the future experience disappointment. I won't shield him from it. But I will however have him take a long look at this thread, it is the best life lesson of all, it will teach him the kind of person/parent to NOT grow up and be. You have humiliated yourselves as a team, organization and as parents. I would be surprised if the coaches take any of you back.
