Where I came from people wondered when RI would eliminate the three town rule and start winning more 50-50s in U12 girls soccer.
Where do you come? My guess would be Butler.

I'm from NJ and my daughter plays for PDA. I'm thinking of moving to RI so she can play for Bayside.

The parents of youth players in Europe are boarding planes as we speak.......willing to live on the streets of RI just for the 'chance' to try out for Bayside.......

The reality is that as much as we all think Bayside are a bunch of tools, that organization really REALLY needs to get over itself.

We are leaving the Baltimore Casa Mia Bays just for the slim chance we may make the Bayside U11 boys team.

the simpel fact is that RI has a higher percent of girls U16 teams that are region one semifinlists than new jersey does. There are too many teams in NJ so if someone wanted to move out of that state to still play soccer, they would not want to go to cT or MA because there are no region one smifinalists teams there. There is one inthis state.

This is a great example of the knowledge of RI posters.

Regionals success has far more to do with the draw than the ability of the team.

The U16 Bayside team got the draw of the century at Regionals.

Teams you don't want to draw if you are RI

                    Maryland
                    New Jersey
                    Virginia
                    New York East
                    Penn East

And if you're a RI team

                    Massachusetts
                    Connecticut

Bayside got NYW, WVA, and PAE in their draw last year. They got lucky and drew Delco, who is not the top team in their state association, and even though they lost to Delco, they took care of business against Rochester and the WV team.

In the semifinal, they lost by SEVEN goals. SEVEN.

The team they lost to by SEVEN lost by 3 to PDA in the final.

Winning the Regionals means you had to beat a couple of good teams. Making the semifinal doesn't necessarily mean you beat anybody.

That's what happened to Bayside. Bayside U16 is NOT one of the best teams in Region I. They are NOT one of the best teams in New England, and they will have their hands full but may still win RI state cup.

If you look at the CT VT and NH teams, they got blown out, so dont say bayside (RI) cant play tough at region1 they will probably be back again

actually NH did very well against some tough teams. Lost only 1-0 to the MD team that crushed bayside

Regionals are all about the draw.

If you are a State Cup champion, here are the teams you want to draw.

                          WVA
                          ME
                          VT
                          DE
                          RI
                          PAW
                          NYW

                          Probably in that order.

                          Next is Mass and CT.

If you're celebrating RI's dominance over VT, more power to you.

At U16 Girls, West Hartford and CFC ECNL are both better teams than Bayside. So is Seacoast.

                            bayside still running their mouths

about their "regional semi finalists" girls team.....paleeeezzzzz.

They finished the tournament with a -6 goal differential after being blown out in the semis. Show me another semi final team with a -6 goal differential. One less goal against RFC in the round robin games and they don't even get the wild card into the semis. RFC isn't even the best club in Rochester, Empire United is. RFC handled the Delco team you couldn't. Look, you got a nice draw and did enough to get into the semis but you are closer to Maine, NH and VT then NJ (PDA). Work on getting your best players to play in state and then come back and talk trash. Until then, stick to being one of the better clubs in a very weak RI pool on the girls side.....I have no clue on the boys side, hopefully you are better there.
