    U15 Rays beat U16 Lusitana 9-0.

THe U16 Premier division at WWIS is two U16 teams (Bruno and Lusitana) and two U15 teams (BW and Rays). Bruno's U15 is playing in the U16A division, not premier.

The Bruno U16 team looks like a U16 team. Lusitania must be a mix of kids playing up so they could field a team. I'm glad to see Black watch fielding a team - They have been through some rough times lately. The Rays U15 look to be the strongest team in this group.

We should remember that this is indoor, small field, 7v7 soccer. It keeps the kids in shape and promotes a fast pace game. All good things but it doesn't really mean anything.

Enjoy it for what it is.

It might be early to label the rays the strongest of this group. Like the previous poster said, its just indoor. The girls are shaking off the rust from the winter break and just having fun.

even if its true that the rays won 9-0, the lusitana players are probably learning better development skills since the rays seem to only be interested in winning games and not so much in skills development. they should not expect to see much in the way of college recruiting with their style of play which stresses fast breakaways and lots of physical play.

Bruno... bottom division in weak ass local mps tourney...3 games...three goals...three losses...looks like you need some scorers...oh yeah the one hour a week training will get you to beat them..you couldn't last year and you lost two of your best players...one hurt one left...you are dillusional to say the least[/QUOTE]

You are the one that is "dillusional" when it comes to your forwards. They don't produce against the big dogs. You keep bringing up MPS tournament not even regulation games.

Sounds like the Bruno blueprint of kick and run!

Do you care to bring up the last time bruno won against the so called "big dogs" oh yeah two freaking years ago when they barely beat a town team in SC finals. Team isn't even remotely the same now. How did you do in regionals that year. At least TW won a game and had a very good chance against the team who lost one zip to the mighty scorpions

agreed--the rays must be doing something wrong. that silly style of coaching that led to a 9-0 win is obviously not going to serve the team or the players well in the upcoming season or in their soccer futures.

LOL. With the new group on the Rays U15 the coach is able to promote more of a possession game. It's actually a good mix of old and new. I agree that in the past his wanting the girls to win did lead down a certain path, but the new style shows both the coach and the girls can do both. The Lusitania team was just over-matched. They had one scoring opportunity early,(I'm not sure how it didn't go in). The rest of the game they were just trying to clear it out of their own end.

we stayed after our game to watch some of the Rays-Lusitana match. We left about midway through the first half--it was already about 4-0. The rays control and movement of the ball was impressive to say the least. someone posted about TW having speed--maybe they do, but the rays have some fast movers at more than one position, and not all up front. Hard to play against that sort of line up. we will see you at some point both in indoor and later in the SC. It should be an intersting match up. Maybe we can keep our relationship a bit more civil (and mature) than the U16 bruno-tidal wave shouting match.

Rays U13 goalie played a hell of a game yesterday. Final score was 8-2 but easily could have been 13-2 if it wasn't for a couple great saves she made.
