You are entirely correct. I'm sorry. He was constantly screaming at and berrating the girls. Yelling things like "take her out" about a girl that kept dribbling through his defense. Never once had his defense pull out, they played in their third the whole game leaving 40 yards of open space between them and the other team. Sweeper was 2 feet in front of her keeper the whole game. Just overall zero soccer knowledge whatsoever. But I guess that's what you getwith volunteers. Constant berating of his players...with sayings that made no sense, i.e. "get to the field" is one I remember distinctly. His poor girls were petrified of making a mistake. This brings up a bigger point...where have all the teacher/coaches gone? Why don't middle school teachers coach middle school teams any more?

Good point! Who knows what's going on anymore. When we were kids we had great coaches for all sports. I think you need more licenses to coach U8's than middle school kids. I just hate to see kids have to deal with coaches like this. I don't think people realize how much influence coaches have on our kids. Lots of times the behavior and attitude of the coach is transferred to the players on the field. When kids who play for them try to play for a real team or real coach, the parents can never understand why they are so far behind the kids who have had good coaching.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment
