A national title for a Scorps team led by RI talent (I'm not saying she's the leader, I don't know) is good for both states.
I come to this board once in a while to see what people are talking about, gossip, etc. and the one theme that stands out is that there are a few posters (I assume from Mass) who have this big hang up about RI Soccer.

What's the deal? Do you really think anyone in NY or NJ cares about Ct. or Maryland or Delaware soccer? I doubt it.

Does any rational person doubt that Mass, with a population 4x the size of RI, has more talent and the teams are generally more competitive at Regionals? Come on!

So why the petulant remarks and silly preoccupation with telling everyone in RI how much the RI teams suck?

Anyone from RI who needs a laugh should go to the Mass board; 3 quarters of the posters there are know-it-all twits. They must get board harassing each other, so they come here to make disparaging comments about RI.

Sounds to me like it is the Mass posters are the ones with the issues; RI's just want to talk about their local teams and kids.

Do we have the same player in mind?
Yes we are. She is a very skilled player but she has many limitations because of size and strength. She is a distributor only. can not hit a shot from more than 20 yeards out. The scorers on LSA all come back and the new midfielders will replace her with no issues.

Apparently there is a championship game on August 5th to determine the winners of the new RI high school summer league. Not sure which teams are going to be in this tournament yet or if it will give any accurate indication of which teams will go on to be the tops in their divisions

Tiverton plays ewg tonight--if we win then we are in the tournament. DOn't know what ewg's standings are so they may have a shot at the tornament, but we will be playing mt st charles if we beat ewg, which we beat them once before a few weeks ago so hoping for a repeat

Although ewg scored the most goals of all the teams that participated in the summer league, I wouldn't consoder that a test of how well tehy are going to do in the fall season.

EWG was a strong team last year and definitely will be a top contender this year. DII is a little weaker this year due to the reconfiguring that was done, probably leaving EWG at the top. Of course only time will tell.

Agreed. The summer league probably isn't the best barometer of future success, but it does have some relevance. The best part about the summer league is the time spent playing and practicing as a team. Those teams not participating in the summer league are definitely going to be fighting an uphill battle.

                            PCD in boys DI

Do not underestimate PCD in Boys Division I East. Good team, great coach and they play together frequently year round.

I have never noticed PCD in the Finals Brackets. How have they done in the past?

They never played with the big boys in RI D1 they played soft teams. We will see what they are made of this year.
