Different costs of RI premier clubs?

Hoping the board can help me. We are just curious what the costs are for different premier clubs. What do you get for those costs? Some premier clubs are cutting out a session of indoor soccer but the costs are remaining the same.

I'm told that Lusitana is the cheapest at around $800 per year. Yet, we're told Bruno is $1,600. Why such a difference?

    greed.

Also, the "fees" that some RI clubs charge to tryout is also one of the biggest jokes around. Look around folks, there are quality programs in your area that aren't trying to rip you off.

Didn't notice you getting out from under your rock. Why don't you want our Soccer programs to be successful. A financially solid program will serve our kids a lot better than a program running on a shoe string. Get a grip.

True, but I also want to get my money's worth. Premier clubs used to include at least one session of indoor soccer, but now they seem to be getting away from that. But, the prices haven't gone down.

What do you guys think is a fair price to play for premier club soccer?

Why do you hate America? I love that argument..."Why don't you want our Soccer programs to be successful". Like that has anything to do with the blatant greed of charging a kid to try out for your club. If the club needs that money that badly, you are not running it properly.

Any RI clubs advance today at the regoinals? Maybe you aren't charging enough tryout fees!

            What one year cost me

We recently finished our season with my daughter and It cost me just over $6000 for the season including all travel and hotel expenses for the year (accounted for 2/3 of the bill). It did not include wear and tear or mileage on our vehicles which I ballpark at around 8000 miles extra for the year (this past weekend in WV was almost 2000 miles alone. For the money we got:
5 hrs of practice a week (all year except for one week in July)
2 Maple Seasons (fall and spring)
            Two indoor Futsal sessions (winter)
1 Indoor session with no walls (winter)
outdoor winter practice on turf field
2 tourneys in CT (TWIST and Oakwood), one in VA (Jefferson CUP), One in ME (Coastal), one in MA (Scorpion Bowl), two in NY (York town and Futsal regionals), 3 state cup games, and Regionals in WV

Now of course you could choose to carpool more than we did and stay in Motels versus Hotels and share rooms, but over all not too bad if you ask me

                Dear small minded individual,

If you consider twenty dollars greed then you can't afford to be in this game. And some of the clubs donate 1/2 to a local charity. For you and those like you it is a wake up call that the tryouts are not to be taken lightly.

Some clubs do not charge for tryouts so if it bothers you that much then you should have only gone to those not charging.

Boo hooo hooo. They want money from my kid. The Bad Man is charging children to have fun. Where is all the money going? Why? Why? Why? Please make them stop hurting the children.

Wow, that's a helluva commitment, 6 large to get into D3. Did you ever get an explanation from the coach on why he let you drop 2 divisions for this fall?

If you don't mind me asking - what were the actual team fees (cost to join team without travel $)?

Can you recommend 1 or 2 of such clubs?

Actually I did, and you are the last person who I would tell the answer to. A very articulate and intelligent answer btw. Try to stick to the topic of the thread instead of bashing other people. Be useful for a change. In response to the person who was looking for real useful information; I was just trying to explain that there's more to a team than just the Club Fee, you have to consider the level of competition the team will be seeking to play and what that will cost to get to. Most coaches/clubs will tell you if you ask (just that most people are afraid to ask)

The supposed secrecy of the answer is consistent with the fees of the club. Why aren't they posted on the club website (if you want to call it that) with the dearth of other club information?

Now, I've got to call you on the "very articulate and intelligent answer" you received. I don't believe the coach in question is capable of either. It's too bad you can't share the answer with us, but if it's worth $6K to you, that's your prerogative. I personally think it was a major boner and I don't think you would be able to convince me otherwise. Anything short of owing up to the mistake wouldn't be "very articulate and intelligent" in my book.
