It's actually pretty funny. He's got kind of like a schizophrenic personality pretending to post questions about the club that he's a part of, and then answering them or correcting others that try to answer.

Well, the good news is that he's discovered the "talking soccer" message boards. I hope he takes time to actually read the posts of others, both here in the RI forum as well as the Massachusetts forum.

If he can filter out the inflammatory posts and the other bs, he can learn a lot about the different clubs, leagues, philosophies and wants of parents in the world of New England premier club soccer. He's a relative newbie to the premier club experience and needs to realize that there isn't just one way to play soccer, or just one way that parents should think about their kids soccer experience, or just one league that a team should play in....etc. etc.

I'm not a lawyer, but without wanting to get too political, I don't think that's true. First, this board is someone's private property and the first amendment deals with the federal government's ability to restrict free speech -- it does not mandate that private property (like this site) must be treated as a public free speech zone. Second, what is going on here is blatant advertising and I believe that commercial speech is not as fully protected as other types of expression.

... but third, I think that every parent should pick a club for their kids that makes them feel welcome and comfortable. Sometimes that seems very hard because there are so many options to choose from (for example, we have WAY to many "premier" teams in RI for such a small state, and there seem to be more every year). As the dad of older teenagers I would advise the parents of younger kids to let your children make the decision based on where they are the happiest. My kids have been on state cup winning teams but had miserable experiences, and have also been on less "successful" teams where they couldn't wait for practices or games. If you're looking for advice on a website it is very likely that your kid isn't a show-stopping, transcendent athletic prodigy -- picking the "right" club won't turn them into one, either. Everyone keeps promising a pot of gold that just doesn't exist. Just learn to laugh at all of the nonsense that coaches tell you and that people post here (especially on the girls' side!), and choose an environment that doesn't stress out the kids or the parents.

But they were good - Just ask any of the RI teams that played them. The coach did a terrific job of putting together a lot of the boys from the Lincoln Middle School state champs as well as some kids from Smithfield and EG. They went 5-1-1 in spring MASC, winning their division - even with an undersized U13 goalkeeper!

This fall's U14's are a new team, but appear to be pretty good for a 1st year RI team.
I agree that they are the best team in the club but in the state prob tied for 3rd with Bruno. Didnt half of bayside's U13 boys team beat them in indoor. With half of the starters from bwp going to bayside I think they will be the best 15 boys team this year.

I'm sure you're right about Bayside boys U15's. Yes, Bayside did beat RISC indoors.
