You have no idea what criteria GA used. It was likely right place at the right time. Regardless, it looks like a good decision on GA’s part. Ukies have one team that went undefeated in league play and another who was second. Next year with the 2010 group they are likely to have another league winner. Wouldn’t surprise me to see this club in Champions League in two years.

A majority of the clubs are former DA clubs - ukies was not and is not at that level - yes 2 teams did very well and good for them - the rest not so much Ukies definitely overmatched

For a club that wasn’t in the DA it’s impressive. Only three other clubs have two teams in the top two. Next year Ukies will likely have three in the top two.

Plus Delco doesn’t have a single team above .500. FCB doesn’t have a single team in the top 4.

There hasn't been a positive reply on this thread in months (if ever). I'll start. The 2006 Ukies GA girls came back from CA with a 3-0 record in Oceanside and doing that without giving up a goal. Good for these 15-16-year-old young ladies. They've put in good effort since early spring and have played some good soccer. They get along, they have fun together and seem to play well together. Give them some credit since THEY are the ones out on the pitch.

Seriously, seems like a good portion of you get off on putting young women down. Why is that?

Yeah the 07s probably had the hardest bracket, matching up against defending champs Cincinatti United. Put them in any other bracket, they would've advanced, like TSF did. Maybe they would've faced them in the National finals when it came down to it, but you gotta beat the man, to be the man

There is a difference between advising parents to be realistic about the "talent" these kids have and putting kids down. None are elite and that's ok. It is the parents that keep saying the team is elite that elicits the responses in this thread. Be happy for your kid but don't act like they are the next coming of Carley Lloyd.
