lame attempt at any justification. This was at high school level in Texas where football is king-no chance that poppa hurts could get away with favoring his son at such a specialized position (QB) in which it is easy to separate the talent. Unlike in soccer, where evaluation of talent is highly subjective, particularly at younger ages. Parents coaches can easily deflect away from their personal biases, and justify selections, right or wrong, with all the common catch phrases used by coaches "speed of play" "technical ability", etc. What they also do is form a tight bond with a select group of parents from within a team, which they typically use to encircle/shield their child. Parents within this group see what is going on but will not step-up for fearing of losing their place in the hierarchy. Go watch any of these parent coached/influenced teams, and you will see the little cliques. Go look at social media accounts of the parent coaches, and you will see the "likes" "shares" being consistently being applied by the clique to further reinforce their place within the hierarchy. The few that may speak-out are simply labeled as a disgruntled parents, and the charade continues.

Real was EDP a few months ago so not counting them. So 2 GA and 2 EDP teams in top flight and GA is somehow better. Maybe it's just not good in this area?

The only way he can be an improvement is if he has the guts to tell all daddy coaches to step aside. If he can do what the previous DOC's ignored, it will immediately legitimize the club. Otherwise, just another town program with a badge to hang their hats on.
