Here's the problem with that dream. At this age group it is extremely difficult to get girls to move. Now some may think that ECNL gives them a chance at college still or they are trapped players looking to move clubs. RL however doesn't have the same pull as NL and Bucks has to field both teams or risk further issues with the league. This means they cannot promote a significant number of RL players because they cannot fill those spots and RL will have greater attendance issues than NL. So don't expect RL players to move in any great numbers. Bucks counts on the fact that the current RL players will be more committed to finishing the season as RL players than anyone they could bring in, and there aren't many who will join an RL team as a seniorOriginally posted by Guest View PostComment

Very different climate this year than in years past. There are kids on the current team practicing elsewhere and just showing up for ECNL games. No one respects Bucks and everyone feels to be ready for college soccer you need to practice elsewhere. Next year the math is pretty simple, remember Bucks doesnt care about your kid. They will have roughly 8 returning players, 4 are coming from Coppa( with daddy), 5 05 RL players. Thats 17. If they pick up 2 or 3 more that gives them a team. RL has roughly 16 returning players if they move any up, they will be forfeiting RL games which ECNL has already told them will mean removal from the league.Originally posted by Guest View Post
At this age it's not about winning or what's best for the kids it's all about how not to lose the badge ie have 22 kids willing to play every weekend. To supplement the holes, they will not go after other 06s, they will over roster the 07s and have a few play 06 RL games if needed. They know they can use the Junior year ECNL showcase exposure to lure 07s pretty easily

I don’t think you understand. Kids and parents don’t care much about the games. They are all signing up for the training. Three practices, three coaches on a full field with kids who just want to train hard. No one really cares how the games will shake out. Heck I heard the 04/05 team only had one sub in their last GA game. So perhaps 40 players will be a good thing for games also.Originally posted by Guest View PostComment

May I add also the level of coaching is very important. We all are preparing for the college level of play and to be hindered by coaches who have never coached at that level, or above, is not a good thing. Bucks is just concerned about deals that help friends, yes we know that years ago we were one of those deals, but those deals no longer serve a purpose for us so we are all moving on. We all know that this team is built to support two goals going forward. 1st is it has to put BB kid on a pedestal and prioritize her. 2nd it has to yield to the new Daddy coach and his daughter. Having 2 power 5 coaches on staff I guess Ukies and us would know a bit better than the HS rec program Bucks puts on. Better to have all those high competition practice hours than to waste time with the uncommitted or lower college level kids. We also have asked every head coach at the schools we are going to and every one said make the move as soon as possible. Said it before, college freshmen get minimal minutes and every coach worth their salt know that the 8 to 10 hrs of practice and internal competition are far more valuable at this phase than a few games here and there. Will we play games, yes we will, will we spend thousands to go play watered down ECNL teams, nah hard pass. Travel hours each to play 1 game as a senior, ludicrous.
Once committed the need for GA or ECNL is pretty minimal, if at all, and definitely not worth the cost. Please do share the D1 coaching experience at Bucks...Bueller .... Bueller .... Bueller...I thought so. But keep bringing back HS coaches, because they know the D1 game so well...lol.
