It always seemed very on-brand for FC Bucks to hire a DOC who lives over an hour a way and coaches a D1 program, and who clearly would never have the necessary time to devote to being a DOC of an ECNL club. It really is the FC Bucks way - promising one thing - looking good on paper, but never really delivering - sort of like the 3x trainings a week myth.

Agreed... and with CM leaving will whoever the new DOC is keep the people CM put in charge? Will the coaches remain the same? Who will be the new DOC - will there be a national search like they should have done before? Lots of questions. One thing I think we all can agree on - Bucks is a freakin mess!

According to the 05 thread, CM is going to PF. If it wasn't obvious already, it should be now that ECNL is done with FC Bucks after this year.

He may not even stay on for this season. Nova may be playing in the spring - pretty much impossible to coach Nova and Bucks at the same time - especially when he lives so far away. Not to mention the new DOC ( whenever Bucks finds one), may not want to keep the old hires.

The writing is on the wall - you just have to be able to read it. There are turbulent times ahead for the club and the 2006 ECNL team. Shame.

CM had a well documented history of club hopping, the board either didn’t do their due diligence on him or didn’t think he would leave them too. Either way it’s gross negligence on the part of the board. This is not the first club CM has left in the lurch and most likely won’t be his last. It’s also another nail in the coffin for a club that was already floundering, and if the rumor is true they are losing ECNL it will be lights out for Bucks. Wise consumers should be looking elsewhere, the first ones to get out will have the most options. Good luck you all will need it. Sorry for your kids.

How can you hold the club accountable? They are equally shocked. And based on his resume of position jumping, many others were too.

The club hired him even though he had a well documented history of position hopping. It was the club’s responsibility to do their research and make a good hire - one that would last more than 5 months. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see he would never last as DOC, and in fact when he was hired some people sounded that alarm. A nationwide search should have been done. That’s why people hold the club accountable. Duh.

Half the kids left this team in the past 2 years. Many clubs in the area.

Wow! Trolling along - what are the bucks defenders thoughts on the latest turmoil at the club? Yoo-hoo Misty what say you? You have been strangely silent - cat got your tongue?

Is this a full-time DOC hire? Will CM leave Villanova? If this is not a full-time DOC hire it will fail. The DOC has to be all in, or else you end up having the same situation as the 06 team did with a HS coach. A college coach cannot make attend anything from late July to the end of November. They cannot manage the club during showcase and national events. This type of DOC will not be there and FC Bucks needs someone to develop the club and fix the problems. It is not possible to coach a D-I program and run an ECNL club. Without a full-time DOC that can put everything into the club, it will be a failure! I have seen this type of hire fail over and over again. Mike O'Neill at PDA can get away with it because Lary Hart, Tom Anderson and Gerry McKeown area always at the club; they are at the fields every night and weekend, they live at PDA. FC Bucks don't have the support staff. Also college coaches think club level soccer is easy until they take the position, they have no idea how much harder a club job is over coaching college. Unless CM is leaving Nova to take a full-time DOC job, this won't workout. It does look good on paper, but that won't be enough to fix the problems.

IMO a national search should have been done to find a person with high-level club soccer background. High-level club soccer is not the same as college soccer, it takes more work from the coaching staff and directors to make positive things happen at a club. This effort has been lacking at FC Bucks since EL. Often, college coaches looking from the outside at coaching club soccer think it's a sweet job, but they fail to understand all the challenges coming from club parents and players, along with the travel/time involved. A DOC is on the field 4 nights a week and most weekends for 9 or more months. I still believe FC Bucks ECNL have the tools to be successful. FC Bucks also made changes for the right reasons add that is positive. A good hire will go a long way!

Nationwide? Pls. Worked well for Continental..ahhem..Delco didn't it. He fooled the club too. It is embarrassing for him more.

I wonder if he will have the guts to go back to PF. I hope they say thanks but we have this.
