Daddy ball is never good. Its not just the Daddy coach's child, but also their children's friends, and the Daddy's friends. Never good to have a parent involved, brings in way too much bias, unless there are controls in place. Once the daddy is installed as a coach, its becomes difficult to do the right thing, because clubs fear the risk of losing a team. I watched a local daddy coach at at highly regarded local club, basically destroy 2 age groups when US Soccer switched to calendar year age cut off. Kept the best 04 players
so that his that his child's team (03's) would be kept intact, and essentially the same. When asked to step down from coaching the team, guess what- he took the entire team elsewhere. This particular club still has some Daddy ball going on. You would think that they would have learned their lesson.

The FC Bucks 2006 team is literally exhibit A of how a daddy coached ruined an entire age group at the club. TBH we were reluctant to agree to the deal BB was selling but went along bc our kid wanted to stay with her friends. Biggest mistake we ever could have made was going along with the BRD - should have gone with delco which was our first instinct. Live and learn

Can FCB parents boot the club management that made this silly decision in the first place? They should be held accountable for this disaster.
