FC Bucks 2006 ECNL - Girls

My daughter doesn’t play for this team but she does play for another bucks team.

But this is impressive. Being ranked 94th in the country is very good. I will admit that; not sure why you can’t.

This team plays in the top division in all big tourneys and does well. I see second div for Jeff cup but there is around 14 divisions so that is good.

You can’t say this team “is not that good”. You can say they are not great or the best out there but I don’t see anyone that claiming they are the best on here. But they are a very good team and the ranking proves that. That site takes into account ecnl and tournament games. Because they have 3 loses out of 8 games in the ecnl season so far doesn’t make them “not good”.

I don’t understand why you can’t see this.

I think this team is a very good local travel team - but I don’t think they are a good ECNL team. Currently standing in 12th place out of 15 teams in the Northeast conference does not make them a good ECNL team - in fact one could argue they are pretty close to the bottom. Just my opinion. Not negative just factual.

I dont think anyone is saying this team isnt good. Its actually very good. But when you compare it to its peers - meaning other ECNL teams, it is mediocre. And it is mediocre because of poor coaching (dad coach plus checked out no feedback giving coach), because it trains significantly less that its ECNL peers, and because the best players are not necessarily the ones who made this team. If the club fixed these problems, this team would be great. It would be competing against PDA for a National Championship. Girls would be getting D1 offers.

While not all parents, some are ok with mediocre and dont want this team to be great. Each of us should be asking why these parents feel this way - what personal bias and motivation causes them to not want this team to be the best it can be

Anyone know why BB requested we be in the 2nd division for Jeff Cup, when our 94th in the country ranking seems to suggest we should be in the top division. Almost seems like he is trying to get this team into a situation where it can more easily win, which would satisfy many of the parents who are ok with mediocrity and take some heat off of his own back.

You can’t argue that this team doesn’t have a lot of talent. And as far as the brd, we got rid of the players who should not have been a part of that deal. So with that said we should have had a much better season since we got rid of the kids holding us back. I guess with so little training we haven’t gotten any better.

It's also an issue that there are not any hot moms on this team. A few are okay but it could be better. We need some of those early 20's moms from NE Philly rocking the yoga pants.

So with that said we should have had a much better season since we got rid of the kids holding us back. I guess with so little training we haven’t gotten any better.

True, but there are still a few others from the BRD that are questionable (not bad players - but not better than other players who tried out and didnt make it). If we could get ride of these players, and replace them with better players, then we would be good to go.

Another small problem- nobody that is talented is looking to come to this team - a team that has a dad coach, that trains 1.5 times a week with no consistent practice schedule, and has a checked out head coach who never provides feedback is not exactly an attractive team. Even if they are ranked 94th in the country. This teams reputation has killed any outside interest . It is what it is - let’s hope they can keep their existing players .

No players should have been part of the BRD, that is the point for most .... get rid of all of them! Sorry, #94 on some two-bit, half-assed ranking page does not justify where this team actually is. There are clearly more than 93 teams that would beat this team in the country ... thinking about 50 in CA alone, then add in TX, FL, NJ, NY ...... Heck, there are probably at least 5 teams in PA alone. Sorry folks, you are going to learn that those rankings mean absolutely nothing. On top of that, I wonder how many of your actual top 5 players (not from the paper at the BRD), but the true top 5, have had enough and are headed for greener pastures next year .... my bet is at least 3.

The same people that think it’s ok to pick a team in the living room of a parent without the coach ever seeing the kids play are the same type of people that pound their chests and scream from the rooftops that a #94 ranking from some meaningless website actually means something. And these same people will now get on this website saying you are jealous of their kids team.

Yeah we are all jealous of a team that is coached by a dad, practices 1.5 times a week and has a head coach who is completely checked out, threatens his players and never provides feedback - so much to be jealous of.

These people just don’t get how much animosity there is towards this team and it’s all because of the BRD and the complete arrogance of those that orchestrated the BRD. The adults that are the epitome of ruining youth sports and all that it is supposed to teach kids.
